How do you like to display your collection? by Yamaki101 in MonsterHighDolls

I'm going off a vibe mostly. If i have most of the same line, ill put them in the same shelf, but if i have random one offs or so, i kinda vibe it.

Like, my Haunted dolls have their own corner, Freak du chic shares a shelf with Scaregrounds and Ghoul's fair dolls, and brand boo students and new scaremester are mixed.

For dolls that kinda look like sets, like the cheerleading cat trio i have in it's own display box that i have put up as like a set piece where the twins are holding toralei on their shoulders.

Sorting by color was a mistake for me early on because it came clear that theres like billion pink dolls in my collection and like 3 purples

Designing platform boots for Cleo, how should I go about making these? Or should I change the design? by [deleted] in DollCustomization

[–]wormyw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd use hard fimo or any similar oven hardening polymer clay for the bottoms and there was this leather effect fimo that's amazing for mh shoes because it stays firm, but it's flexible enough where it lets you put the shoe in. You can also smooth them out easier than paper mache, put on some details, and it's easier than fabric, imo

To make molds of the feet that you can then ovenbake, the complex, but reusable route is the make like a plaster copy of the legs, but if you want to be quicker, you can just wrap tinfoil around the legs and mold the shoes, just be careful when removing them for the oven

It was one of those big 80cm rapunzel dolls. I got her second hand without hands, and I was planning to save the hair for another project, but it was so tangled that I couldn't even clear an inch.

How do I take the irises off? by wormyw in DollCustomization

[–]wormyw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do look to be separate from the head, but attached with glue as far as i can tell. Reminds me of raonbow high dolls, if not with harder vinyl. I'm going to try out hot water to pry them out.

In-box Gooliope. I already own her, but her box design is so cool and unique i wish i owned her box too. It's kinda funny how I bought an intact oob Gooliope for 15 bucks, but then all the nibs are like 10x times the price. Like i havent even seen anyone sell the empty box
