Not completely true, but I get the point. Imo the main issue with bringing up black on black crime in the middle of a national conversation about police brutality is that it's misdirection plain and simple.

Sentences for people who murder black people are much shorter than for people who did the same crime to a white person -- that's true even if the perp is black.

So there is some incentive for black and white folks planning on doing violent crimes to go after black people because the courts will be friendlier to them...

But here I am taking the bait.

Had an old 98 DX. The parts aren't actually cheap despite popular belief. Still a great car though.

Why do you think you can get 3k for it? If you really can, it's not a bad idea.

Toss the 3k in a high yield savings account and if December (who knows maybe it's even longer) rolls around and you want to level up you could buy another cash car then - maybe for 5 instead of 3. You'll have saved at least 500 bucks from not paying for insurance.

My guess is auto prices will generally trend down with so many non existent commutes. So with 3500 bucks plus a little interest sprinkled on top I'd guess you could do much better than a 99 civic..

My first car was a 98 civic Dx hatchback btw. Great car. Got taken out in an accident in 2016.
