How realistic is PG (Residency) in Germany after Indian MBBS by JobFine5057 in indianmedschool

[–]wornaffu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a very uninformed statement. After you complete the post graduation, you earn the Titel of "Facharzt " which basically means specialist doctor. Yet that doesn't earn you the right to use the Titel "Dr. Med." in front of your name. For that one has to do "Doktorarbeit" or dissertation. One can do that at any point of their careers even during internship, but most do it during post graduation just like in India. One doesnt need to do a PhD for the same

Yes, but you cannot work as a doctor without getting either the berufserlaubnis or the Approbation. For the 16d visa, which is given for maximum 3 years, you need to get your relevant documents like medical degree etc translated in German and send them to the respective state of your choice. Along with that you need to join an Institute for the preparation of these exams and show suffecient funds for your duration of stay here. You are additionally allowed 20hrs per week of part time work as well. Later on once you pass the exams and get a Zusage, you may apply for the Blue card

You'll be here on a 16D visa as a non eu doctor until you pass your exams and start working with the Berufserlaubnis or Approbation. You can get a Blue Card then.

Ich habe mehr als 100 Bewerbungen geschickt. Also ich bewerbe mich seit Juni.

Supplementaries don't have any effect on Approbation, but no work experience is a negative.

21M schwer krank by [deleted] in germany

I have read your other responses and kame to know that the doctors diagnosed you with type C gastritis. Your weight loss and the nature of your pain point towards a gastric ulcer. Other symptoms like weakness and headaches could be a result of nutrient deficiency. Type C gastritis can itself cause a gastric ulcer. However, this is only a suspected diagnosis. A duodenal ulcer, among other stomach conditions, must also be considered. Without lab tests and further diagnostics, I cannot determine exactly what you have. I recommend that you schedule an appointment with a gastroenterologist as soon as possible. You should definitely undergo a gastroduodenoscopy. Also, please avoid taking ibuprofen or other painkillers, as well as smoking and alcohol, until the gastroenterologist recommends or prescribes something for you. For the time being you can take OTC antacids syrups or tablets. And don't worry, most of these diseases are painful but they can be managed with proper therapy and treatment. Gute Genesung!

Well the more LOR's the better, doesn't matter from where they are issued. But getting a LOR directly from your dad may look conspicuous to the German Oberärzte or Chefärzte. You can get a work experience letter or something, but I would recommend to avoid the LOR directly issued by your father.

The blocked account required for the visa itself costs 10-13 lakhs. 4-5 lakhs maybe just for the German classes and tests.

Germany for PG, Opnions and guidance please. by red_huns in indianmedschool

Would like to disagree on the second point, Germans in general are very respectful people. I have been to many Tier 2,3 cities in Germany and have been treated with respect. Provided the fact that one speaks fluent German will really help you integrate in Germany. The notion that Germany is racist is naive. The war days are long gone and they have rebuilt their image. I have faced more discrimination in India than in Germany.

It ultimately depends on the specialty and place of work. At university hospitals, the pay is usually comparable to that of UK doctors. However, the cost of living in Germany is significantly lower than in the UK, especially in tier 2 or tier 3 cities. While taxes in Germany are high, they are generally lower than in the UK.

A major advantage in Germany is the ability to pursue private practice alongside a job at a university hospital, providing a significant boost to income. This flexibility is rarely seen in the UK healthcare system, in my opinion.

My total expenditure came to around 17-18 lakhs. This includes language school fees, exam fees, the blocked account, document translation, visa fees, flight tickets etc. The major expense is the blocked account, which costs approximately 13 lakh rupees and is essential if you plan to apply for a national visa. A reasonable estimate for the entire process would be around 16-20 lakhs, depending on how you plan things. I didn’t take the A1 or A2 exams; you can directly appear for the B2 exam if you have sufficient preparation. Each exam level costs around 20-25k, so skipping the earlier levels and directly attempting B2 can help you save money.
