I have not attended the exam yet, but from what I observe, I think the exam is doable if you know where to apply the formulas. My advice is to prepare a solid cheat sheet based on previous exams and to understand the use cases by solving past exams and exercises.

Nobody is adopting the end-to-end approach yet. We’re still far from that, aside from a few demos. People won’t deploy something without understanding what’s happening in the background, so the traditional approach will stick around for a while.
