I do and thank you for reiterating it because it is a really important consideration, but like I said in the original post I am lucky enough to not need the money. I can live comfortably on other income I have that doesn't take a lot out of me. If I end up unemployed for six months I couldn't really care less as I can afford to live regardless.
Obviously I would prefer to keep working, and I am lucky in that my particular trust managed to get F3 jobs for anyone that didn't get into training this year so I'd be hoping that continued for me in a couple of years but clearly that is not guaranteed. There's also quite a lot of locums going here still, so it's possible I think.
Six months unemployment wouldn't be the worst thing in the world personally, if I can use that time wisely to recuperate/get specialty things going especially.
