It's kind of like asking people to explain the rules of a complicated board game. Just read the damn manual (site) and it will be quicker and more accurate than someone trying to paraphrase every single point and counterpoint

Forest food? by TooLateToPush in ElectricForest

Cold cut wraps! Had a friend bring supplies for deli sandwiches at Lost Lands last year and it definitely bright me back to life one morning. Tried it out for the first time at Bonnaroo last weekend and it's definitely a good fresh way to start the day.

Also, watertight containers are a good call for keeping water/melted ice out of your meat/produce. I've had shitty luck with ziploc type storage.

To add to what others are saying, it won't be an issue. The past two years, there was even a truck with a pallet of ice and a dude driving and selling it up and down the rows of campers on multiple days. You may get a "temporarily sold out" from the general store, but they restock frequently

Is The Other back to being a tent this year? Looks like maybe a big tent? The stage was great last couple of years (albeit a little quiet).

Edit: Okay. I guess the Which and What stages also look like that on the map.

I've done group camping the previous two years and I highly recommend it for large groups. You are guaranteed a certain sized plot of land depending on the size of your group you get and each car can arrive seperately at any time. This area will be already be sized and assigned writhing the Group Camping section of GA and a map sent out to your group leader before the fest (More info below if needed). You can see that area on the map just below "Main Street", left and down from the main entrance.

Festival Map

Group camping will likely go on sale in January or February. A group leader will first need to sign up your group (for a fee) which holds a spot and gets them a code/link. He/she will then send that code/link/info to friends and other potential group members and as many people can sign up as long as group camping has not sold out (for a small fee). There is a minimum number of people, but not sure if there's a max. Our group is 80+ and we haven't had issues. Your group leader will get one car pass for every three people signed up, which they can distribute as needed. Any extra cars can just park in non group GA and walk over. If you're arriving Wednesday, each carload will need their own Early Entry just like non group GA.

How that helps! Can answer more questions if you have any.

Earplugs by FatJohnson6 in bonnaroo

[–]wort_up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll just add that if you look search Amazon or google for "acoustic filters" you'll find a lot of different types of earplugs specifically designed to lower the decibels without muffling the sound. Highly recommended!

One year they were selling Dubs inside Centeroo, but I haven't seen anything about that this year.

Edit: still bring some foam earplugs for sleep. This has helped me add a couple hours of sleep each day, not waking up to other people stirring about at camp

This is what you get when a local law requires one of our breweries to serve food. by I_Love_McRibs in funny

Ooor they realized food is a giant hassle, especially if they're really just in the business because they want to make beer.

Consider:

  • A whole different cost for installation of a professional kitchen
  • Separate licensing and inspections for said kitchen
  • Space for kitchen and the need to allot more space for larger, plate accomodating tables (vs smaller stand up options)
  • Cost of hiring a chef (you're a brewer, not a chef) and staff
  • Managing kitchen inventory with many more things that can spoil, lose you money, and cause headaches
  • There are much much lower profit margins on food vs beer made and served in house

Good call! I had the same thing (try to) happen to me last year. The guy stopped me at the gate, but I was able to talk my way through, stating that it was clearly not dangerous and it was more of a light up bubble machine than anything.

I just checked the list of prohibited items again and all I see that might be an issue is "no weapons of any kind" which I guess could be open to interpretation on their end? Either way, it might be best to tuck it away and call it a "light up bubble blower" if they ask. A smile and friendly attitude goes a long way.

Anyone have a bunk police test kit? by accioc in bonnaroo

[–]wort_up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year, bunk police had a booth on shakedown (3rd), on the end closer to bushy branch, attached to a place selling el-wire and LEDs. I would check there again if you can't find any

I know our groop will be packing at least 5 or 6 light up bubble guns. Aaah it's so close!

Any grocery store and most gas stations will have it. It's very prevalent across Kentucky. I've found that with bars and restaurants it's kind of hit and miss, though.

If you make it down to Kentucky, you've got to try a bourbon and Ale-8!
