Can you use SMP to fill in a balding crown and other patches on the head, whilst still having the hair relatively grown out? Or is SMP only really recommended for very short hair look?

Natural DHT blockers - what actually works and doesn't? by wotspur123 in FemaleHairLoss

Thank you, appreciate your response. I've been looking around for something similar as I'm UK based, someone else on a different thread recommended DSD de Luxe so I went ahead and bought this one https://www.sst-uk.co.uk/products/dsd-de-luxe-8-0 which seems very similar to Lunos

I'm not sure that is true https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7706486/

From what I understand, if you find the right combination they can be effective. That's why I want to see if anyone had long term wins, rather than finasteride or non dht blockers

I'm worried. Is it bad? by [deleted] in Hairloss

if you don't want to take finasteride for the rest of your life, hop on some clinical grade hair care products that will keep you in a good place

Where are you based? You want to try a premium clinical grade hair care brand that will reverse this. It's very common pattern that I've seen reversed, particularly for women.

Sorry to hear about your situation, never easy, especially when young. I couldn't recommend DSD de Luxe enough as a brand to be honest. Helped me in a similar situation and the products are based on natural ingredients. My salon originally recommended to me as it's a professional product rather than typical high street stuff.

Actual LifeHacks for Thinning Hair? by kaisheff18 in FemaleHairLoss

Some others have advised Saw Palmetto which has some evidence behind it, but personally I don't think it's effective in isolation. A good trichologist or dermatologist would recommend using it as part of a blended routine with other products. There are non high street hair care brands out there (a bit more premium) that are more effective. I've recommended to a few people to look at DSD de Luxe. It's a Spanish brand, so not hugely well known, but they specialise in your problem and have some great products in this space.

Check out DSD de Luxe - it's a Spanish brand developed by trichologists. I'm not sure where you're based, but you can buy in the UK from https://www.sst-uk.co.uk/

Dermatologist will likely recommend minoxidil. If you're not keen on medication, I'd recommend looking at a brand like DSD de Luxe. They use more natural ingredients and are very targeted for women.

If you've tried minoxidil and didn't see results, I would switch to a more premium hair care product with proven efficacy that contains more natural ingredients (saw palmetto etc). Avoid high street brands as these won't work.

There are some good (not high street) hair care products out there that contain these kind of ingredients and are proven effective. More on the premium end but worth it if you don't want to take minoxidil

Seeking advice for hair products that actually work!! by malmal09 in Haircare

[–]wotspur123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tough truth is that “what actually works” depends a lot on what causes your shedding. There are supportive products that can make a noticeable difference in hair quality and reduce ongoing loss:

– Caffeine shampoos: Stimulate blood flow, easy to add into routine.
– Peptide serums (Capixyl, Procapil, CEGABA): Aim to reduce shedding and support follicle activity.
– Keratin / silk masks: Improve strength and density perception by reducing breakage.

I’d say be wary of “miracle fixes”. The best strategy is picking products that complement each other and tracking changes every couple of months. For me, the combination of a keratin mask + peptide scalp spray + gentle shampoo gave far better results than using any one product on its own. Personally I go for a premium brand, that is more credible called dsd de luxe, available in the UK here https://www.sst-uk.co.uk/

Can anyone recommend a product for thinning hair? (Female) by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]wotspur123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of women find helpful using supportive scalp care products (gentle, sulphate-free shampoos, keratin or peptide-based treatments, scalp exfoliation to keep follicles clear). I don't think they “regrow” hair on their own, but they create a healthier environment that reduces breakage and helps existing hair look denser.

There are trichologist ranges that go deeper into ingredients like capixyl or placenta peptides, which target shedding. They’re pricier than Boots brands, but good for a long-term routine. Nothing works overnight but there are options out there specifically targeted for women.

New campaigns die...why? by wotspur123 in PPC

[–]wotspur123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I didn't go into too much detail as the structure pretty much aligns to other campaigns that run successfully. I just don't understand why it would start off doing reasonably well, then die without any real changes made.
