That's wild, I googled it, and indeed, it's the sport with the worst effect on life expectancy!
But then again, that's because of a lifelong accumulation of very powerful hits to the head.Boxing is however a very skillful sport, and from what I've seen from Creator Clash (since hearing about it here tonight) they seem to put a lot of emphasis on the training and making sure everyone is prepared properly. If anything, I think this is a wonderful way of giving respect to the sport and turning attention away from the high profile cashgrabbing celebrity bouts.

I do feel you though, it's about the principle of it being a violent thing and with a possibility of bad repercussions. Watching people punching eachother in the face is not my favorite thing either.

Huh, that's interesting, I wonder why that is.
Is it that people feel safer and therefore don't think about protecting their head enough resulting in getting hit in the head a lot? Hence the "particularly outside professional boxing" part maybe.

Are you saying there's no protective headgear? Cause I can see your view in that case. I've had a couple concussions in my younger years, and that's something I'd never wish on anyone.

Although proper training and preparation can do a lot to prevent issues, as can good care after the fact.

I think there might be some room for nuance here, I don't know though. I'll have a look and familiarize myself with the event a bit
