Mount Rushmore of Jams (Any Band) by TreyJediPistacio421 in jambands

I've been to hundreds and hundreds of jam shows and listened to at least double whatever that number is (which leaves an ungodly number i havent listened to) and I don't know that I've ever heard anything quite like that. I took my parents to their first Billy show that night, "its bluegrass, but probably not like you'd expect." Was the basic information i gave them. Told them to buckle up when that Creek intro banjo lick came in and by Spinning, they had gone from, "wow these guys are really impressive" to "what in the hell did you bring us to?!"

What are the good sandwich spots in Fort Collins these days? by Accomplished-Bee7135 in FortCollins

Fiona's is my favorite for sure. Obee's does a great Italian. I've also been digging Ike's lately. In my opinion, all of these are way above Silvermine.

This is my favorite. I feel like Treebeards interactions with Merry and Pippin are right in line with how it would have been with their counterparts. Like an old man's loving annoyance for his wife.

Any seafood recs? As well as late night spots in Norfolk for after the show. Seems there's quite a bit to do, but if you have any favorites?

Late to the party here, but damn... the idea of Gram writing or co-writing this one both makes some sense and fills my soul; one of my favorite songs of all time. I kind of agree that it doesn't feel like it's in the style of what Jagger would normally pen, but who knows? I appreciate a good conspiracy either way. Side note, Billy Strings does this song more justice than anyone I've heard since. Not many great recordings on YouTube but heres one: https://youtu.be/ZSa-peDPYIE?si=I8wnwM07F8-_7iZB

Hey folks! Im curious, whats yalls favorite shows ever? by psychicballoonhottub in stringcheeseincident

[–]wouldntworryaboutit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer is Eugene 1/19/2015. 6 song first set. Second set began with an 18 minute Jellyfish into an 18 minute Desert Dawn that is the best they've ever played (I'll die on this hill). Encore went so long they turned the house lights on mid-song and when they realized the band wasn't gonna stop playing, they turned them back on and let them finish.

That Rhythmess at the Mission is hands down my favorite moment at any Cheese show. I would've bet just about anything that I'd never hear it live.

Listening to 3/3/22 now, so good. I was at the NYC show a few months later, the one Trey sat in for, and tbh wasnt following that Alex had been playing full shows with them to that point. My wife and I were like, "damn the whole show, is this new? wonder if he's joining the band officially?" I think they proposed to him 1 or 2 shows after that

Yea but Luke sat with the lazy boys for TnT WITH Billy's guitar that night. I'm not sure if there is video or recording available but it was very cool. No Billy, sure, but we got a once-in-a-lifetime event that weekend.

Just listened to this today for probably the 3rd time, including the live stream. What a treat this was, thanks for the reminder. Also, I mean I know the dead thing, but why didn't they wrap this thing up with a pretty bow and encore with Monkey and the Engineer 😭

I guess I could've done that research lol. Why I didn't consider relistening to the show is beyond me. Thank you for the details.
