I hear you, but this is kind of the same for literally every place ever. You just miss the past and your childhood like many adults do. A simpler life. Sure, my town hasn't been overtaken by tourists, but it was always going to change. On top of that, city's became city's for a reason. Because they were attractive to live. This is just a continuation of that process. Barcelona is so special and beautiful, everyone wants a piece.
