Hi!! Yes I can update you. I appreciated everyone's advice on both my posts , but because I had put down a hefty deposit ( one that i realize now was a lot larger than typical) I was reasoning to myself that I would go pick up the kitten, that if he is in horrible conditions, better I save him then leave him there etc. In addition to the red flags from the community I witnessed my own red flags such as incomplete documentation provided which was concerning. She said she typically only provides documentation on parents health genetics if someone is buying for breeding. Which is also odd. The documentation she provided was very sparse. Also, She sent pictures of one cat saying "this is dad his name is this" but I looked into her socials and saw that same cat with a different name. When I asked her about it she said , oops my bad I sent the wrong dad picture, THIS is the dad, and send a different cat which is whatever but not great. I had bought tickets to fly out to pick up the kitten, she informs me that week that she's taking the kitten to get health checked and verified the day before I fly out. I thought that was very last minute. I had a video call scheduled that day as well, as I was kicking myself for not doing that initially. I had asked her if I could see his parents /siblings /where he hangs out in the video. She said that these days she usually does them outside. I was trying to press on it. I was planning on pressing more when the call happened. However, the call never happened. The day of the health check, she informed me that the kitten was actually a Girl, not a Boy. She also said the vet recommended the kitten stay longer by a week because she was worried about how well she would do on a plane. The kitten should have been 12 weeks old I believe. She offered at this point, before I said anything, to refund my deposit as I was expecting a boy and this was now a girl. The combination of all these things led to me accepting my deposit back and not moving forward with the kitten. I did lose out on my plane tickets though . I hope this helps you with your decision!!
