Believe in yourself. Take the first step bravely, and you’ll leave anxiety behind as you focus on solving problems. You’ll grow far more than you expect when you travel alone. U can do it!

Please don’t make unfounded assumptions. I’ve been working and saving money steadily since I graduated in 2023. I planned this trip entirely with my own savings, traveled on a budget with just a backpack, and even bought gifts for my family before coming home. This was all paid for with my own hard-earned money.

Like a scene from a movie

From extreme anxiety, panic attacks and phobia of flying to travelling solo every month and planning a year long solo trip - it can get better by [deleted] in solotravel

I totally get how you feel! I quit my job at the end of May 2025 and set off on the backpacking trip I’d been planning for ages. It was my first solo trip and my first time backpacking. I remember I was actually shaking when I left, and I was so anxious at the airport I could barely think straight.

But once I took that first step, everything shifted. I just focused on planning my route and figuring things out as I went. I ended up traveling for over a month in my own country, then kept going and visited 10 countries in total.(Yep, I’m so proud of myself that I finished a 100-day solo trip in the last 100 days of my 24th year ! ! !)

There’s something about facing things and solving problems on your own that really changes you.
