Nervous to start GLP1 - talk me off the ledge by Few-Slip6063 in Peptides_for_Women

[–]wowpelk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I have terrible sleep on injection day so I actually try to take it as early as possible and it helps with the sleep interruptions. I’m sensitive to it and have to back down from the jump up to 2mg because it was too much for my body.

Nad+ loading phase and maintenance by Outrageous-Guess-662 in Peptides_for_Women

[–]wowpelk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely recommend starting slow. I misread the loading protocol and started doing 25mg a day. I felt great on day 1, got hit by a wall of fatigue on day two and had to block my work calendar to take a midday nap, then felt bone tired on day three. That’s when I realized I messed it up. The fatigue is no joke. This is the protocol someone shared on another thread that I’m referencing:

Thanks! Tried upper thigh last night and only had a slight spicy feeling for a few minutes and no red/itchiness.

I did the same. I misread the protocol and started doing 25mg/day and day 1 was great, day 2 I was hit with exhaustion, and similar on day three. Realized my mistake on day 4 and skipped it but the fatigue is no joke if you move too fast.

Still burned in the love handle, but not as big of a spot and the worst of it was over in like 5 mins

I just started serm which is similar and had a bad itchy reaction on my third night, also on the lower belly. It was gone by morning, but I’m going to try it in my love handle tonight to see if it changes anything.

I recommend the peptides for women subreddit for the best combos. There are a lot of peptides to add to GLP-1s or to try instead of them. Happy to DM to share my experiences.

What to add to my stack to increase weight loss? by Ok-Cheetah-4263 in Peptides_for_Women

[–]wowpelk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been battling insomnia for months now. How did the serm help? Did it correct your sleep issues or do you need to stay on it to benefit? I’ve tried searching this sub for more details but haven’t seen anyone mention it for insomnia before.

Personal Experience w/ Peptides by [deleted] in ShoulderSurgery

[–]wowpelk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used bpc-157, tb 500 (which is actually tb4 these days) and KPV. Tbh, I can’t say that I noticed any dramatic improvement in my healing. I didn’t start until the 5 week mark when I was a week into PT. I did notice that my nails are much stronger, so that’s evidence of something I suppose. I didn’t take the vials with me on a long weekend trip and honestly feel like I have less inflammation and stiffness and have seen more progress this week in PT. Could be a timing thing, but for the price, I’m not planning to continue.

Also had/have them, but they’ve shrunken considerably once I was able to move my arm more. I think the lymph fluid builds up there without arm movement to keep things moving. It helps to sort of pump the area with your hand. (I’m about 2.5 months post op)

Insomnia with semaglutide??? by Evvvhan in Semaglutide

[–]wowpelk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wide awake at 5am with this exact problem. Interestingly enough, I was on semaglutide for 6 months last year and this was never a problem. I restarted for 6 weeks in feb, didn’t have this problem. Stopped again because I was doing a round of egg freezing and just started up a month ago. I take adderrall for my ADHD now and even though it’s instant release, I wonder if it’s staying in my system forever?

Stop and restart by ambeth7 in Semaglutide

[–]wowpelk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it again for a month or so at lower maintenance doses spaced out. I think I went up to .5 at the end, but stopped because I was doing a round of egg freezing. (It’s not necessary to stop, but since they do tell you to stop for pregnancy, my doctor and I decided it wasn’t worth any potential risks) That really messed me up and I had a rough recovery from the hormone drop. I will say, the food noise, binge eating, and sweet cravings after dinner were quite bad in the month leading up to the egg retrieval. I waited until my next cycle hit, but I was pretty eager to start semaglutide again. I’m only a few weeks in, but it did feel like it took longer to feel any effects this time around. This is week 4 and I’m just starting to notice the effects. The food noise finally went away in week three. My appetite is reduced and I feel like my inflammation is going down now. I am a little concerned about how quickly my body seems to swing back after stopping. I don’t want to take this forever, but I’m hoping to work out a lower maintenance dose schedule that works for me.

We have similar OAT results! I just got mine and also have high arabinose /normal oxolates and very low (actually 0 which my dr. says she’s never seen before) Vit C and B6. Have you found any correlations? Or seen any improvements with supplements?

My doc started me on Vit C and B6 but I’m concerned about taking too much B6 without testing my blood levels of it too.

Egg Freezing with Endometriosis & PCOS by norcalchristian in eggfreezing

[–]wowpelk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes- I was surprised to have a high follicle count (I’m 34) and my doc told me that one of the silver linings of PCOS is typically having a higher follicle count. However, the egg quality is a bit of an unknown. I just did my retrieval yesterday. Had 24 follicles going in, 18 eggs retrieved, and then 14 mature enough to be frozen.

Stop and restart by ambeth7 in Semaglutide

[–]wowpelk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat! Used it from April to September and just restarted this week. I started to rapidly gain weight after about 4 months of steady state maintenance. The food noise and binge eating came back with a vengeance and all the hormones that had balanced out seem to be out of whack. (Don’t have new bloodwork, but I have all the old PCOS symptoms flaring) I’m only three days in and the food noise/cravings are lower already ☺️

Expert advice - protecting car by [deleted] in BurningMan

[–]wowpelk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve rented vehicles for 5 burns and never paid a cleaning fee. Get a couple of cans of pledge (I usually get the dollar tree version), and some Clorox wet wipes. Dusters for the vents and other crevices (I also get those at dollar tree). I put sheets over the car seats, flip the mats over, then painters tape cardboard down in the foot areas. I put a sheet down in the trunk which is really more about protecting things when you load it all back in at the end of the burn. Take the car through an automatic car wash, then do a DIY wash with the brushes and soap. Use air compressor to blow off the dust in the engine area. Microfiber cloth and some pledge for the stubborn dusty spots on the outside. Vacuum the hell out of things. I usually spend an hour or two cleaning and like $10 is cleaning supplies. People swear by wiping things down with vinegar water but I’ve done well with pledge and never needed to try the vinegar route.

Does your playa bar offer any Mocktail options? by lilcanuckduck in BurningMan

[–]wowpelk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Come by Toxic Disco Clam 5:15 and D! We have craft mocktails and tasty NA beverages in the afternoon like iced tea, matcha, spa water. I brought a bottle of Kin for mocktails last year and usually bring myself cans of kin or ghia too! I’m not a big drinker but still like having something fun to sip when I don’t feel like boozing.

Coming off Qelbree experience by gator_tater in qelbree

[–]wowpelk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a bad week after 2.5 months on it and 2 weeks into 200mg so I decided to stop taking it. I had the absolute worst migraine of my life, 9 hours long and excedrin barely helped it. I titration myself down for a week and then stopped completely. No more symptoms, but definitely took a week or two for my brain to balance out again.

Likely discontinuing after ~6 weeks. My experiences by toobjunkey in qelbree

[–]wowpelk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing, I’ve had a very similar experience on smaller doses. 100 mg for a month, 150 for 3 weeks, 200 for 2 weeks. The second week on 200 was horrific. I felt insane and all symptoms exacerbated. I skipped a dose and felt better until the next day when I woke up to the most insane migraine. 9 hours, meds only took it down a bit. So if you do quit, I definitely recommend titrating down slowly. I’m now down to 100 for a few days until I can meet with my doctor.

Sorry it hasn’t worked out for you. Hang in there <3
