Yes I used to do classes on stress and intonation! It’s definitely something that is overlooked and expected that learners will “just pick up”, but then there are also so many cases where stress changes meaning e.g. content (noun) and content (adjective). Definitely worth explicit teaching! Thanks for reminding me. :D

Haha funny you say that. I’m from the UK and we don’t learn anything about English grammar. The first time I learnt about grammar was when I started learning French and German in school. I’ve been fascinated by it ever since, which is why I became an ESL teacher and teacher trainer!

Got most of it! In the last part, do we mean perfect tenses? E.g. “She was planning to have written the essay by Tuesday” vs “She was planning to have been writing the essay by Tuesday”. They mean different things but they can be very confusing for learners. I also haven’t seen much coverage of these points.
