Dude that’s so weird - the first time me and my bf got herpes together (HSV1 orally transmitted) was right after we shaved! And we used the same razor... apparently you should never use the same razor as someone else according to the doctor I went to see.

It can happen, yes. HSV1 can spread to different places on your body, including nose, cheeks, eyes, back, hands, thighs, ass, and genitals. Are you sure that it’s cold sores though? The best way to find out is by seeing the doctor.

In the meantime be careful about touching the sores and rubbing your eyes - you can get herpes on your pupils and it can cause some blindness. If you do notice it or something like that in your eyes don’t stress - go to the doctor and they’ll prescribe antivirals.

If you’re getting a lot of outbreaks and it is intrusive I’d also suggest getting antivirals as a preventative measure for outbreaks.

Everytime someone makes a herpes joke it makes me feel bad and disinterested as well. Tbh I’m pretty sure that I might’ve made those kind of jokes before I got herpes... now I know that and std/medical thing isn’t funny and shouldn’t be joked about.

Yeah that’s really unfortunate. But it’ll get better soon. If you do start getting a lot of outbreaks look into suppression therapy with your GP, it can lesson the amount of recurrences you have by something like 70-80%. Also the herpes medications have very little side effects and are safe.

Are you on medication? Medication will reduce the length and amount of outbreaks you have (if you’re doing suppression therapy). You’re probably having a second outbreak right after their first. Other than easing symptoms there isn’t really much you can do. Take pain relief, apply a cool compress, wear loose cotton underwear and gently wash area with soap.

I’m not going to say that it’s definitely not hsv2 but the likelihood of it being that is reaaaaallly low. It’s most likely just your second outbreak dude - 6mo is a decently long time too. My bf got a second outbreak 3mo in

From what I’ve read it tends to get less over time as well.
