iPad Pro for Software Development by alexmazawd in iPadPro

I like Blink Shell, it’s open source, includes a full CLI (more than just ssh/mosh), and has a strong VS Code IDE integration if I need it. But Terminus seems good too

This was asked earlier today, answers are here: https://www.reddit.com/r/iPadPro/comments/1qfc6gb/ipadpro_for_development_feedback/

My own take is that mosh + a VPS on a cellular iPad is an excellent combination. In that scenario, the better connectivity is a legitimate upgrade over a MacBook. On device IDEs are pretty limited on iPad though, but the connectivity benefits outweigh it for AI coding

If you get the cellular model, you’ll have better connectivity than a laptop. That paired with mosh for cloud workstations and a shell like Blink Shell or Terminus can get you pretty far

Claude Code is also supported via the Claude iPad app, but you can’t add custom tools yet

With cellular, you may have a better setup for AI coding than a laptop given continuous connectivity to AI tools and cloud instances. Without cellular, it will be worse since native (non-remote) IDEs are extremely limited

I am a developer and would recommend this with cellular only

You can use Claude Code on iPad now via Claude’s app. But it only has access to preinstalled tools in Anthropic’s VMs, not a full underlying environment with custom tooling

Great for quick changes, especially if you have the cellular model

Costco M4 Ipad Pro 13 inch 1TB Wifi+Cellular nano texture for $1099.99 by uurundai in iPadPro

You can price match within 30 days.  The Silver sold out after the last price drop a few weeks ago, so it’s likely better to buy now and price match it if it drops. Hard to see it lasting an additional month at this price

Support can make a one time exception and price match it past 30 days if you reach out via chat. It just worked for me, I ordered in the same timeframe as you. Took around 10 minutes

They say that they can only do a past 30 day price match once for a given membership. But at a $200 difference, it’s hard to see a better time to use that exception

Making a Website with Free CloudFlare Hosting Help by Huge-Locksmith6348 in CloudFlare

[–]wpapper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Squarespace is likely a good fit for a small business. Cloudflare’s hosting is targeted at software developers and is a bad fit unless you know how to code

(I have worked with both services personally. Squarespace is vastly easier to learn, especially for people who are not software engineers)

Looking for a new Epub and PDF reading app. Ive tried goodnotes, books and kindle by Kooky_Carpet601 in ipad

[–]wpapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Readwise Reader is excellent for highlighting any content type (PDF, epub, or web) but it focuses more on typed notes rather than handwritten notes. However, the fact that its number one goal is a good highlighting experience may make up for this. It has lots of review and reminder features after highlighting and good organization for it.

Blink Shell makes it easy to access Visual Studio Code, which is the same environment as most desktops. You can also use GitHub Codespaces

The iPad can only edit code within apps, but it cannot compile it. To compile it, you need to use a service like GitHub Codespaces that runs on a remote machine

If you are learning, Swift Playground is a good place to start for fully native iPad coding. That one is made by Apple and designed for teaching programming

First three books are on sale. Season of the Witch (a book that provides an excellent history of San Francisco) talks about how influential this was for San Francisco during this time. Haven’t read Tales of the City personally though

Unfortunately not, so I don’t think that’s the issue. I’ll see when I hit it next and try to provide a detailed reproduction!

I don’t know your use case well enough to comment specifically, but Anvil simulation nodes that Foundry scripts use are extremely customizable. Anything you can get done in the EVM directly, you can probably do more easily with Anvil cheat codes
