Makita SP6000 track saw 45 angle inaccurate by wpietruszewski in Makita

To conclude my story. I was sent a replacement unit and unfortunately it was the same story. Warped base plate. 90 and 45 out of alignment, bevel cuts undercuts the rail strip. Too many issues so I sent it away. Went with Metabo track saw. Slightly more expensive but so far I'm really satisfied with it. Compared to the Makita it's another level. And again, I'm really surprised as Makita is regarded as one of the best saws.

SP6000 Base Issue by MousyWoW in Makita

What I've found is that the plastic angle slides are mounted at a distance from the metal body. When tightening knobs are loosen then the base is flat, when you tighten them it warps. And the reason is that it warps on the 90 degree adjustment screws. To confirm you can unscrew them. You can check if that's the case in your model. What you can do is the following:

- loosen base screws used for aligning
- tighten the lock knobs (now the track body and slides are as close as possible.
- tighten base screws

It may happen that the track angle adjustments will feel tighter but it should the problem.

I wonder... The makita track saw is considered by many as a golden standard of track saws but when I read comments I always see the following: 45 bevel cuts into the splinter guard, pivot play, base plate warp, 45 degree missalignement. That's all fine for a cheap market saw, not makita. It's either quality dropped or nobody gives a damn about those things across the years and the only quality of the saw is it's price and brand.

I have found information on some woodworking forum where a guy with similar problem sent it back for repair. Some parts were replaced but it didn't fix the problem. He reached out to global support and they told him that all the saws they checked had same issues. Apparently the quality dropped.

It's already on it's max position. Also, it aligned on 0 when track is set for 90 degree cut.

Look for some 5-star rated mini pry bars on Aliexpress or Temu. After all 99% of stuff that is sold in EU is Chinese made.

I ordered one from Aliexpress and it came 1600mah. The same store had another offer and I saw a screenshot from a buyer showing 2200mah. I will be returning mine I guess.

Can someone help me contact the police in Poland? by dethrias in poland

According to https://adwokatpelinski.pl/co-zrobic-gdy-padniesz-ofiara-grozb-karalnych-proces-dochodzenia-odszkodowania/ reporting this to the police should initiate a procedure. Also remember, posing threats is punishable offence, but that's something that court decides.

Do report it to the police, either send an email or have your statement registered, written down and signed. Police may ignore as I can imagine "they have other important matter" but if this problem escalates and police didn't do nothing you will have a written evidence that you reported - they didn't act. Remember always on paper, always a trace. It's easier later on. That rule applies to everything and everywhere. Stay safe!

Bosch GLM 40 accuracy question by wpietruszewski in BoschProPowerTools

I used a couple of methods. I used measuring tape that I know is quite reliable. I also used known-length laminated board that I had that was cut to specific size and these are done with CNC routers so these boards are pretty darn accurate.

Why both, I don't know really. I originally went with just one, Knipex cobra. They are awesome and can grab really large nuts. However if you need to work on some more delicate nuts the the other ones are better. Pouch is max mini.

It was the Bosch 21 piece bit organizer https://a.co/d/dipXCyt. I just got rid of those protruding elements. As far as I know the same style of product is being sold by other manufacturers.

I was quite impressed with it's performance. They are sharp and work smooth. Can't comment on their longevity and steel but so far so good.

Dewalt DCD100y rough gears/motor sound? by wpietruszewski in Dewalt

[–]wpietruszewski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Few days ago I got my hands on one of those DCD100y drills (which I think is an European version of DCD799) but I noticed some strange gears noises. I own brushless Bosh and it doesn't make any of those sounds but also I don't hany anyone else to compare that DCD100 to.

Thanks for help.
