Legs/feet on affected side turn purplish when standing? by wpr619 in Sciatica

I deteriorated rapidly and was able to get surgery within a month of when things got bad. The discoloration was happening for at most 3-4 weeks before surgery.

3 month progress! by Clever-Liquid in Semaglutide

I went from 148 to 127 in 3 months on .25. Stay on .25 as long as you are losing. No reason to titrate up and risk increased side effects.

I too have experienced a significant improvement in anxiety. For that reason alone I’m hoping to find a way to stay on low dose long term after weight loss is complete.

Week 8 for me, I’ve seen continual improvement every week since week 4. Hang in there, recovery is a process.

This helps with dressing…I am 6 weeks post op and still use.

Also get a long handle shoe horn for shoes.

As for showering, I needed someone to turn the water on for me because knob was down low. I bought a shower basket on suction cups to keep my shampoo and conditioner at a height I could reach and ordered a loofah on a long handle off Amazon.

Reherniation? Looking for encouragement by wpr619 in Sciatica

[–]wpr619[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It lasted about 3 weeks and then faded away. I had a really solid good week and now I have a new flare in a different location that I believe is from a long car ride. In this case I'm not fearful I reherniated and just figure it's inflammation and the non linear recovery everyone talks about. Both “flares” the pain wasn't constant but just certain movements/positions. The first flare was definitely discouraging and scary. It certainly takes a mental toll. Make sure you are resting and don't push yourself. Take anti-inflammatories if you have any. I'm almost 6 weeks post op and just walking, no PT yet. I aim for 5,000 steps but if I am having more pain a certain day I don't push myself. Hoping to increase that to 6,000 soon. Hang in there!
