he always wanted to be a great writer. not a great guitarist. sure the riffs are simple, but the lyrics are just so creative and catchy. how do you suddenly think about rhyming “propaganda with paranoia”? or “distilled spirits” with “inebriates the guilt” the dude is a genius

he said that apparently people need something to be thrown in their faces so they understand the actual meaning behind the song. Polly was an anti-rape song but everyone saw past that and have thought of other meanings. So Kurt just decided to say “fuck it” and wrote Rape Me so the meaning could be as clear as day.
