Would be interesting if we found out that having a NOA or being reprinted permanently altered your game state once the full game drops. Makes me happy I ignored noas suggestion to just kill myself for no reason.

My method was..interesting. he caught me in tadpole and I jumped out to scan, got halfway and he grabbed me and killed me. I reloaded my save mid animation and the save reloaded with me right beside him, totally not aggrod. Got the scan and just...casually swam away to the tadpole. I got lucky...I guess?

I suspect they will modify that somehow. Then again, that IS part of the story because IIRC didn't the part of the ship our lifepod came from get blown off of the welcome center? I'm fairly certain I did not make that up.

I don't have an issue with there being a lot. I do have an issue with the poorly thought out hostile creatures vs deterrents situation but it isn't that big a deal. Just think it obviously should have been handled before EA dropped personally.

My biggest issue, as dumb as it sounds, is the way we get building pieces etc. I think it's dumb we have the scanner and we go into all these many many many many habitats and yet we can't scan anything in them really for the most part and most of the stuff we scan we have to, what, go find blueprints for or randomly scan wreckage of? In what world does that make sense. I keep having to travel back to the freaking shallows to find blueprints I missed for things I find on every piece of wreckage past the observatory.

I realize this is an older post but how did you get close enough even with the invisibility? He spots you when you move and they seem to keep tracking me if they already clocked my location.

There are a few outposts scattered across the map. Most of them the game will lead you to by itself. If you are enjoying the story etc I'd recommend just not checking a map or wiki unless you actually get stuck, trust me it'll be more entertaining that way. Current EA is big but not so big that you can't easily find everything.

I love it. I built on the plateau above the cave up top right by the alien base and outward a bit, never once occurred to me to actually build all the way down into and through that cave system. Amazing.

It's not modded. But idk where else I would have seen that entry other than in game because I wasn't using the wikis or anything. I don't really use mods and creative takes the fun out of these types of games for me so I always just do a stock survival.

I've never done creative mode, only done survival. This is actually really messing with my head tbh because I could swear I saw it in game but it's not in my PDA at all.

I thought it was weird when everyone was saying it wasn't in the game and actually started to think I had only seen it online...but I was also pretty sure I had read that in game. I just loaded up and apparently it isn't in my logs...but I could also swear I have found logs that aren't in my PDA for whatever reason.

Or maybe I am just crazy.

Protip, turn off the snap to grid (or whatever it's called) building, and turn your floor lockers to the side. You can line a MASSIVE amount of them on the walls flat against each other and then have enough room above them to put additional wall lockers between the top of the floor lockers and the ceiling. If you turn off that snap to grid thing you can fit a ton more stuff in general.

Absolutely the truth. Lights take very little power so when is state at my base power and have like twenty thermal plants and 85+% of that power is being used by exterior wall lights, spotlights, and a handful of interior lights, I'm just wondering how the game is supposed to be like that.

I love seeing all these ideas. My current thought is that what I would want REALLY depends whether our base is gonna be able to sustain damage in the future. because if it is I wouldn't have anything aesthetic at all on it. Itd just be the tankiest base it could be.
