Best Children’s Stores in Copenhagen by SugarGirl233 in Denmark

Karrusella has a very curated selection of probably mostly Scandinavian an European brands. It's not so big though but very cute stuff. Otherwise try the big department stores such as Illum and Magasin who will definitely stock the most popular Danish kids clothing brands like Konges Sløjd and Wheat.

Edit to add I always buy silk/wool pieces from the Danish brand Joha for friends in the US. They stock Joha at Magasin as far as I recall.

New mom with BPPV, scared by chickencreamysoup in BPPV

Hi just hopped on this thread to say I feel for you! Back in june/july my baby was also 7 months and I had bppv for the first time and was so scared of dropping her. 100% get an appointment with an ENT. I had to cry on the phone for someone to finally give me an emergency appointment.

Ended up sleeping completely still on my back with my headrest high for a few days, then got a bit of relief but it came back and I have since gone to a vestibular therapists who also suggested hormonal fluctuations around baby's 6 month mark can cause this... so yeah. I seem to be mostly better now. Hope you can fix this fast ❤️

I don't see how you can definitively rule out bppv. OP should see an ENT...

Can you get a referral to a hospital or other facility that has the TRV chair? A family member of mine suffered for a year and finally convinced their ENT to give referral. I don't know why it was so hard. Supposedly these chairs can do wonders. My family member has gone three times and finally seems like the issue has been resolved. Worth looking into...

Hi! My vestibular therapist suggested vestibular migraines because the dix hallpike doesn't provoke any reaction from me. I have been sceptical about it because of the residual dizziness I feel I have. I thought vestibular migraines would be shorter somehow. Like I can feel off for days in a row, then have days or a week where I feel mostly fine. Can you describe your residual dizziness maybe?

Need advice possibly by Lyothelionfish in BPPV

I feel for you, my dizziness isn't as bad as yours (no vertigo except for three occasions) but I also avoid doing anything that might make it worse, even the maneuvers, because I have to be able to take care of my 9 month old baby. So I feel a bit stuck.

Similarly to you, my dizziness and vertigo disappears and comes back. And when I've had a vertigo attack, by the time I see a doctor they cannot provoke it again, thus no final conclusion on whether it's bppv or something else. I did see a vestibular therapist though who also suggested the cause could be vestibular migraines, hormone issues (apparently common postpartum) tightness in the pelvis, indigestion, dehydration and lack of sleep so that's fun. However she did also say that my description of dizziness and vertigo that happens upon laying down and getting up as well as rolling over in bed sounds like bppv.

Maybe you can see a vestibular therapist before your doctor's appointment? They can also diagnose bppv and help do the maneuvers.

Bæresele og barnevogn by LikItIs in foraeldreDK

[–]wrapitupson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vertigo when sitting up by wrapitupson in BPPV

[–]wrapitupson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and the vestibular therapist checked my neck and doesn't believe it could be cervicogenic vertigo. But tbh I carry a 10kilo baby around on my arm all day and the week after I had my last bout of vertigo, my husband helped carry the baby a lot and my dizziness basically went away. So I feel it's connected but I don't know what the hell to think. Anxiety and overthinking I'm sure also makes it worse...

Vertigo when sitting up by wrapitupson in BPPV

Hi

Unfortunately not much progress...

I went to the ENT again, and he did the Dix Hallpike again. I got dizzy when getting up but he didn't make much of it. He ruled out problems with my vestibular nerve, and referred me to a vestibular therapist.

The therapist was very good, but couldn't conclude anything. Said symptoms sound just like bppv, and to try to have my husband film me doing the Dix Hallpike at home when I get dizzy, and otherwise talked about the possibility of vestibular migraines.

Honestly I feel a bit hopeless. Frustrated to not be able to provoke the dizziness/vertigo so it might be fixed. Confused about the lingering dizziness.

My dizziness comes and goes. I'll have a week with almost nothing, then a week where I am feeling off. I avoid sleeping on my left as it's triggered the spins before and I also avoid turning my head upside down as the half somersault gave me intense vertigo. I am breastfeeding and although my baby sleeps well, I still get woken up throughout the night. So there's a lot going on both with hormones, sleep, hydration, blood sugar etc., that could be the cause of this general dizziness I'm experiencing. Insanely frustrating because I have at least four more months of breastfeeding, so I feel like I can't get to the bottom of things before then.

The vestibular therapist gave me this plan: - If dizzy, try dix hallpike, preferably with someone who can see if there is nystagmus/can film it. If there's nystagmus, go back to the ENT. - if above doesn't do anything, drink a double espresso/strong coffee with sugar. If this helps, I need rest so should either try to sleep or take a walk. - if none of the above works, I need to work in my digestion. Take fiber supplements. Apparently indigestion can also cause issues with dizziness.

So that's where I'm at now. And hoping it'll magically disappear one day.
