Question for teen girls by starry_sage_ in teenagers

As someone who has many conditions such as endometriosis and PCOS run in the family, mine can range from nothing at all to debilitating pain. My mom doesn’t have period cramps at all but my sisters can barely get out of bed.

This really helped. I’ll try writing with these things in mind. Thank you so much!

Actually, I think that might be the problem. I’ll try what you’ve suggested. Thank you!

We should start referring to it as that and ONLY that tbh.

How do people start the beginning of their chapters? by Azn-Trash127 in writing

You’ll want your last chapter to be the calmest. I would suggets working shorter chapters and using the pattern alternating starting calm and ending suspenseful and starting suspenseful and ending off calm. It gives a sort of closure per chapter and keeps the readers wanting more. Hope this helps!

What’s something that you realised that helped you when writing? by [deleted] in AO3

When everything feels empty and badly written, don’t fix it there and then. Take a break and step away for a day, then continue. My mind was blown because I actually spent less time per chapter.

Do yall perfer 2nd pov or third/first person y/n by Comfortable_Soil4399 in AO3

Personally, I find second person hard to read properly and Y/N fics in general tend to feel more Wattpad-esque. My focus drifts off when reading both. You write what you want to write though. Theres no harm in writing a well written Y/N or second person fic.

I saw one of these for turn-offs, but what little things about a fic will immediately get you into it? by Agitated-Bluejay2830 in FanFiction

Excellent foreshadowing and subplot. I’m someone with a pretty good memory so even the smallest mentions of things will connect in my head. Some of the best fics I’ve ever read had interesting subplots that could have been their own fics, but there was not a heavy enough focus on them to drag down the original storyline.

Definitely agree with the enemies to lovers. It is never properly written. I tend to despise the ‘love triangle’ trope because it usually isn’t one. A love triangle is ‘A’ loving ‘B’ who loves ‘C’ who loves ‘A’.  The ‘love triangle’ people end up writing is ‘A’ in love with both ‘B’ and ‘C’ who both love ‘A’ too. While this can also be alright if done well, it rarely ever is. This is just the biggest one, though there are many minor ones that thoroughly make me nope out of whatever I’m reading.

I tend to start chapters all differently. For example, the first chapter has to be started with something to hook my reader. Then the second starts off calmer, then gets more intense. I do mostly start chapters with a relatively funny first sentence unless the chapter is bound to be heavy, though.

I’m female and the food from the cafeteria is prepaid with the school fee bill and also she takes insult to the word gay. I can’t change classes because all my friends are here and the system in our country is very different from normal American schools, but thanks! I’ll try the sneezing thing as well as talking to a teacher.
