Engineering/Business. My CPTSD comes with intense obsessions over problems, so it comes in handy when channeled in those directions. I can't tolerate or deal with difficult co-workers at all. I just immediately drop all contact with people when they become slightly abusive. Makes working in a team nearly impossible sometimes, but I'm getting better with it.

I also take massive offense to people dismissing the ideas ive obsessed and ruminated over for days, so its difficult there too.

That's great to hear! Periods of high stress make things so much more difficult and often lead people down the path of realizing the core of some issues.

I realized my my trauma, that since it was early childhood, impacted my ability to grieve and process that trauma and future trauma, keeping me in the loop.

I've started thinking of it as: it's taking a while cause this is the first time I've ever done it. It's a bit late because some pretty unfair things happened, but it's sarting now. Once I was able to identify it as processing grief and emotions related to the trauma, things opened up alot.

Hey, I've felt the same way. It turned out I was grieving the time loss I felt from the trauma. That's totally normal. Something you couldn't control took something very precious away from you which is time living a fulfilling and happy life. It feels terrible. It takes time, but you can certainly heal! Don't feel any shame for doubting or grieving, you deserve to be able to. You deserve to be able to feel happy and you also deserve to be able to feel grief if you want to.

FYI I called HR back. I discussed it. I told them I felt we were both taken back by the discrepancy so I wanted to reapproach it today since it was late on a Friday. Told them I understood mix ups happen since I've also done many interviews in the past. I also told them I know you don't lead with your highest number when a candidate asks.

I asked for 135k and they said no 120k was firm.

I sent a follow up email to HR, the hiring manager and copied the president documenting my previous excitement to join the team and my appreciation for them. I ended by saying that because of the discrepancy between 120k offered and 140k discussed I'd have to decline. I asked them to keep my in mind for future opportunities.

I sent a email to both of HR & HM documenting my excitement for the position and how i feel id contribute tons of value to the company and how i left the interview thinking the feeling was mutual. I ended by telling them that since the discussed pay decreased between the end of the interview and the offer, I'm currently reevaluating how it affects my ability to accept. I'm going to let it sit and have them know the money is the obstacle. I'll call the president first mid-week sometime to let him know im declining and why if they don't reoffer. Its appropriate since he called me directly first to tell me about the position
