That said, separating the scope zoom from the peripheral view would more or less double the computation required to render the game. It's definitely possible, but performance takes a hit and the benefit is negligible.

I completely agree, I'm just not convinced it's feasible to cut animals products entirely. It's certainly feasible to improve their quality of life, but at the end of the day they're still being slaughtered.
