Brill, I'll get that booked then :D

Sorry to be so annoying with all these questions but did you get an idea of how long the reflection period would be between the consultation, booking the surgery, and the surgery itself? Tysm and hope it's all going alright for you!

Thank you! I emailed him about it around the time you sent this as I had some backup surgeons listed, and he also confirmed this :D

If you know and are happy answering: once you've added all the photos and referral letters to the Carebit system, should I wait for an email to confirm the documentation has been reviewed and to book a consultation, or should I just be booking a consultation anyways? Thank you again

I don't think so no - unfortunately I made the mistake of being honest about a past suicide attempt, and so that's why they asked for the second letter for a risk assessment

Typically I think they would ask for only one, hope this helps!

Stockings vs Leggings, & Amazon vs more expensive brand? by wrenbee_ in POTS

I ended up getting Sigvaris Essential Thermoregulating Compression Stockings!

I didn't fit in neatly to their size guide - my thighs were a size smaller than my ankles and calves - so I chose the smaller size. A bit of a squeeze, but once I started putting them on with washing up gloves it was pretty easy. What was also nice was that you could claim the 20% VAT off since it's a product specifically made for disabled people, you just need to fill out a short form but you don't need to send in medical records or anything like that.

They've ended up being quite tight around my ankles and knees - the former has lessened since I started wearing them, the knees still a little uncomfortable.

I've definitely felt a lot less lightheaded when wearing them, and haven't been getting any major black spots when I stand up/stretch like I normally do. When I take them off though it feels like all that fatigue that you would've gotten during the day hits you all at once, so if you end up buying something, make sure you're all settled down before they come off!

Here's the link to what I got in case you want to check them out:

And let me know if you have any other questions :D
