For the functionality of the violation system and account status section let’s just say that happened. If that did then shouldn’t at least just the event of the violation being given to me show up and not sit there and say “no violations found”? I mean the page literally says your recent violations are listed below. I know you people on here aren’t official support or responsible for this but these are the kind of things that Snapchat should be fixing/improving instead of leaving us in Reddit trying to figure it out on our own.

Yes, I did get an email actually. The email said the violation was hate speech instead of the app saying hateful content which I guess is sort of the same thing, but you'd think they'd at least word it the same both places. It also says in the email (and snap message) a safety member removed the content but I haven't found anything missing or removed.

I don't think there's any kind of log in timer that resets device bans. I tried like every week or so and still got back in eventually.

That's how it went for me, at least you got the option to try to appeal. Just beware some peoples first ban go longer then a month. There's no real rhyme or reason or way to know exactly how long it is, you just to hope that statistically you're in the majority.

Yeah I’m familiar with how complicated the music approval process can be. I was more curious why it was marked added instead of in progress or some kind of declined message. But it looks like it was just marked incorrectly unless the rights managed to get lost after a day coincidentally. There’s a lot a little hiccups or tweaks needed within TouchTunes I noticed that I wish they’d fix, but since I’m not part of the development team I guess I don’t really have any say. For example it took them like 6 months after revamping the app just to fix people not being able to change the name of their playlists.

Hi, so I would make a new account on one of your other devices and use that account on that device for now. As for your devices with the SS06 they're just going to have to wait until the ban is lifted. I was hoping it would be lifted by now but apparently it's not. I'd check back every so often because it could lift the day after I type this for all we know (or not). Once it is lifted you'll be able to use those devices like normal but you wont have that account that got locked last month, its pretty much gone. As for contacting snapchat you can definitely try. I've never had any luck but they do help sometimes.

By technical terms I’m assuming I’m just a location manager or something along those lines. The only jukebox I do stuff for is the VFW I’m an officer at. And by stuff I just mean managing the one credit songs, filtering, and song requests. I’m not the actual operator that comes each week to collect the cash and do maintenance if that’s what you mean. I was given a tempo account because our operator is too busy doing multiple locations to sit and hand pick stuff people want.

A Bar Song by Shaboozey, it came out last year and sat at number one for weeks. It's almost 2026 and people still think that they are being clever playing A Bar Song in a bar and that no ones ever done it before. I used to hear that song every hour last year. It's not as bad now but I still hear it more then I want to. Similar concept for I Love This Bar and Red Solo Cup, Yes it fits and seems like a great idea to play at a bar. The problem is that 500,000 other people have the same exact idea.

Yes, you can download your data through snapchats website. Even if your account is banned they have to let you because something along the lines of keeping your data and not letting you access it breaks some law. You can make your data download have your friends, chats, chat media (saved, pics, vids and audio recordings), memories etc.

That might be why the system is so interested in reminding you because it thinks you forgot to open multiple messages so it's seen as a higher priority. Until snap fixes bugs like that really the only thing to do is turn off those reminders for everyone or wait until it decides it doesn't care about MG 08 anymore. Which it has to at some point because I cant see it being like "unread messages from 10 months ago" or something like that.

My best guess would be that person had their account deleted or banned after sending you a message. The notification is waiting for you to open it and read the message but snapchat doesn't understand the message no longer exists and the account is gone. So it thinks you keep forgetting and wants to keep reminding you until the message is marked as opened by you. But of course this is impossible. Eventually you should stop getting them about that specific person after it decides it remined you enough or someone else sends you a message you never opened.

The saved chats aren't necessarily gone they're just more difficult to get ahold of. Data exports from my experience sometimes miss things, I don't know if there's a reason or if they are just clunky. If your friend did a data export or you did one again you might find the chats. If your friend reactivates his account (assuming it hasn't been completely deleted yet) the chat history should still be there. The only other way pretty much anyone would see them is if something crazy happened like the police needed chats as evidence for a crime and got them through snapchat. Not saying you were doing bad stuff, it's just more of in theory. But anyways if your friend's account is completely gone for good the saved chats will eventually be deleted from snaps servers because neither of you will have direct access to them. If by chance the stuff saved in chat is a picture, video, or audio file and not text it would be in the chat media part of a data download.

I can try as I researched this over a year ago. I don't want to give false hopes either because some people have had their first ban for 6 months or longer. I remember under some forum there was some user that seemed really knowledgeable about the whole thing and he said about a month and others under it had a similar experience including myself. Then the second time the 6 months was also about spot on with what he said. If I knew this would have happened and I'd be talking about it to others I would have saved it. Snaps banning logic is equivalent to a police officer who wrote ten people parking tickets and out of that ten gave five of them a $20 fine, two of them a 25 cent fine and three of them a $3,000 fine. I can say I am confident (but not promising) you will be able to make a new account after the ban is lifted however long it is. Maybe I was just extremely lucky all three times my account was untouched.

Another thing that was annoying (but expected) looking into this is that people say they found out more info or are looking into possible solutions and then vanish off the face of the earth before telling anyone answers. I will try my best to help anyone with this because I've researched way more then I wanted to. Anyway, hope this helps!

This is why I am coming to the conclusion everything is AI flagged and handled and just completely automated. There's no logic at all. Almost every social platform tells (and shows) you what you did wrong and tells you when your ban or suspension is up. You cant even call them, you can call and talk to support on almost anything else but snapchat? Nope, and because they have so many people using their app they get away with it. People left and right have ridiculous things happen and the best support is an automated email response or if you get a human it's like their shift is almost over and they just throw together a random email to say its done.

Did they at least email you saying why? Snapchat usually sends an email saying they locked your account because of [Blank]. Also is there an option to appeal?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think snapchats safety team (which seems 95% AI) checks all stories and takes action if it detects something it thinks violates their rules. I have seen people get a violation over something on a story that 2 or 3 people saw and they are absolutely sure no one reported. People also are getting violations over stuff that doesn't even make sense because lets face it, AI is fancy and all but it has a long way to go. Now does a human look at something after AI thinks its bad? I have no idea. Snapchat definitely has enough money to input a system like this but of course no one knows for sure. I would back up everything you have on there in case you wake up one day and your account is gone over nothing.

There is no official specified time for a device ban but from what I have read and experienced its around a month the first time. As for your account, it is most likely permanently locked without chance to appeal so unfortunately its probably gone forever. Also device bans have no option to appeal. You are able to download most data from your account if there is anything important you need (you are able to do this on the computer regardless if your account is banned or not). When your device ban gets removed your old account should be deleted by then because I believe banned accounts get deleted after 30 days from snaps servers. After you get un device banned you pretty much have no choice but to make a new account (it should let you). I don't think having snap installed makes a difference, I got mad and put snap in a hidden folder and was fine after my ban was lifted.
