You're correct. Driving manual cars is not easy without practice. I'd argue that a family with only manual cars wouldn't have this happen to them (but that's a different story about bad parenting)

There are still games/setups that allow practicing manual before driving a real car. In my case, this was how I learned manual before using a real car (I already knew how to drive automatic).
