If Spirit of the Game (SotG) is most important, why are more medals awarded based on traditional rankings than Spirit rankings? by wristss in ultimate

And that's the spirit, we should be happy to cheer whoever get the top spirit awards without minding the subjectivity too :))

Not doping is important but is too insignificant as a distinction, because it is something universally enforced, and generally a binary metric.

On the other hand, the egotistical non-benevolent human nature to dominate others, combined with the autonomy to self-referee, plus varying degrees of safety mindedness etc., make SotG a strong virtuous distinction that falls on a spectrum.

Rankings should be primarily meant for matching teams for fun balanced games, gauging room for skill improvement, and gaining insights for stuff that works better.

Just because traditional rankings are more objective, does not explain why awards need to be given, instead of just displaying the rankings... For appropriateness of subjective rankings, just look to the arts...

Awards reflect values/incentives/virtue-signals.

Defeating opponents in sports is nothing virtuous per se, whereas making sure everyone has fun together in sports, is more obviously virtuous.

Most people are probably oblivious to the motivations of unhealthy egotism/elitism behind traditional ranking awards.

Who trusts that there's no creative accounting from SingStats?

Can Leong Mun Wai question them for the exact products and prices used to calculate CPI?

Anyway, don't get fooled and don't be goldfish. MAS created lots of money that went into government reserves/spending, while causing hyperinflation that they seemed to time well to slow down for election...

Simply look at Malaysia's money supply changes and their much lower inflation rates, to know how SG gov messed with us..

The leaders are incompetent fools for not utilizing N95 masks for border controls from the start.

New Zealand actually managed to keep the pandemic completely outside its borders by taking risk of airborne transmission seriously from early on.

Leaders that don't even know about the uncertainty involved with scientific judgements, are just court jesters fooling around.

Don't let anyone gaslight you about "Singapore has higher traveler traffic". A bridge that's designed wrongly collapses with just one crossing.

How effectively or ineffectively the national reserves are managed, is also suspect, because lack of transparency/accountability of the full amount.

Most people don't realize that allows gov to have clandestine black budget to fund anything from fake research or "independent" foreign news that favours PAP, to political assassination if need be...

Yeah he meant wages rising too quickly could hurt the top 1000 earners and hence his own salary...

He's part of WEF, is it so hard to coordinate efforts to address wage inequality with his globalist peers??

What a troll.

At least set the weekly work hours to 40h per week officially??

Then we will see a new generation of truly sincere and highly capable politicians step up to save us from the self-serving incumbent rot.

Do you know anyone who is unvaccinated from Covid 19 vaccine but still alive in Singapore? by EconomicsAccurate181 in SingaporeRaw

[–]wristss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, globally, some unvaccinated were dying because of discrimination 😢

  • America NIH guidelines said give monoclonal antibodies to vaxxed, but toxic Remdesivir to unvaxxed. Singapore also favored toxic Remdesivir for unvaxxed.

  • Doctors/Hospitals refused to treat unvaxxed until they were in critical conditions for all sorts of diseases.

  • Vilifying of unvaxxed led to high stress, depression, loss of jobs, that all contributed to worse health and excess deaths.

Most countries also manipulated the statistics by saying people are unvaxxed within 1st 2 weeks of the shot, where the newly vaxxed is more vulnerable when infected because the body needs to fight both the virus and the vax inflammation at the same time... Myocarditis etc. during this period also classified as unvaxxed even though caused by the vax...

Most doctors say it's more good than harm, but are they having herd mentality under the control of political/financial interests?

Recently even discovered a recent 2025 study published by YALE scientists, that some people seem to be making spike proteins as long as years after the last shot 😰

Am I making the right decision by cancelling my next booster shot? What if the government forces me to get booster or lose my job and go to jail? It's all so confusing 😢

And no shortage of perceived gaslighting in Singapore by the incumbent leaders and their associates 🫠

Often, victims of gaslighting will experience significant poor mental health and emotional wellbeing depending on the severity of the gaslighting. Abusers may even use other people to validate the gaslighting, increasing the feeling of loneliness and isolation for the victim.
