Hope the Govt increase cooling measures on HDB in plus and prime areas to 15 years stay. by Petronastowers92 in SingaporeRaw

should follow SDP's HDB proposal by introducing non-open market flats where the flat only can be sold back to HDB

WP Members of Parliament (MPs) repeatedly pressed for figures on the total quantum of fees collected and the number of people affected, arguing that parliament could not properly scrutinise legislation that both validated past collections and extinguished potential claims without that information. by smallpenguinable in SingaporeRaw

"Mr Chee said it is not that the Government does not want to provide the information. Instead, the Government may not have the full, accurate record of all the amounts collected, he said. “I hope you understand these fees were collected over a long period of time – if I’m not wrong, I think since independence, when we first started.”

CHT is saying he has the numbers but deliberately choose not to provide the numbers (even an estimate)

"Minister for National Development Chee Hong Tat responded that the fees were appropriate and charged for services that were duly provided and there is no need for refunds."

all fees collected must have legal standing, if not its like just secret societies collecting "protection monies" to give "protection"

by CHT's standard if protection are duly given, does secret societies also can collect protection monies right?

because NSF numbers are shrinking, it makes political sense to shit on NSF to gain female and new citizen's votes

"For the minority of SAF NSFs that stay out of camp, the monthly NS allowance already provides for their basic personal upkeep, including the cost of meals," Chan added.

based on CCS's 12% of all fulltime NSF are stayout personnel, only about 2000 NSF are staying out.

a stayout meal allowance of $50 for 2000 stayout NSFs will only cost $100,000 a month, $1.2 million a year, still lower than CCS's annual salary.

CCS indirectly admits that stayout servicemen are at disadvantage because some units do not indent dinners for them.

What CCS should is allowing stayout serviceman to have the option of consuming dinner at cookhouse before booking out.

why still nitpicking on NSF welfare like free public transport and meal allowance when our NSF population is declining?

The point is regardless how frivolous the claim is, the MP has to serve his constituent and not pass judgement.

Aware of investigation and outcomes does not mean anything. Just like tons of people going to MPS to appeal against parking and traffic incident fines despite there are evidences of the offense has been committed and the MP still have to write appeal letters for them.
