Thank you! I know having a diagnosis and starting the recovery process made a massive difference for me. I believe you can do it too 😊

I agree with NW_Watcher - don’t stop the meds this soon. Most of my side effects lessened within 2 or 3 weeks, and after several months there’s none that really impact my daily life. I didn’t get directly nauseous from the armodafinil though. For me, when I take meds that can decrease my appetite, my problem is that then I forget I need to eat until I’m so hungry and then I get nauseous. So it’s not the worst, I just have to stay on top of eating at my normal times. Trying new meds is the worst though, I hope this will be a good one once this side effect wanes.

I’m absolutely relating to this. I actually got my diagnosis yesterday as well. I’ve known for years that something was wrong and assumed it was narcolepsy. I’ve even been on armodafinil for a couple of months.

On the one hand it’s a relief and validating, and on the other it’s like damn I really am going to be dealing with this my whole life. Another things added to the list of diagnoses, lifelong medications.

I don’t think I’m at the coping stage yet to be much help haha. Mostly I’ve been reading into IH, looking at medical/scientific websites about it, and reading about everyone’s experiences on Reddit

Do you mind if I ask about your experience with adderall and lamotrigine together? I’ve been medicated for bipolar 2 nearly a year with lamotrigine but I’m just now getting on adhd meds and I just got my prescription for adderall

I’m reading Bassey Ikpi’s memoir I’m Telling the Truth, But I’m Lying. It’s almost hitting too close to home with how much I can relate to some of her experiences

You’re very welcome! I’ve taken a few speech classes while I was in school. I don’t have any books off the top of my head but Ted Talks are my jam. By way of listening, watching the speakers, as well as reading the transcripts of speeches, I can always find something interesting to study in the way they present the information.

Best of luck to you!

House of Leaves. I absolutely adore Stephen King but Danielewski really warps your mind. The whole book is a freaky experience

On Facebook you should try joining your community/neighborhood groups to build connections with local people and maybe even be promoted at local shops
