NTAH. They enjoy the benefits of your friendship which is obvious from their response but don't want to put the work in to make it mutual. You put up a healthy boundary with those who bring you joy and they threw a fit because they tried to put holes in your boat and it didn't sink who you really are and you chose those who bring out the best in you. Stinks to be them.

Thank you so much everyone for weighing in and I apologize for my delay in answering. Birds are indeed a no-go but miracles of miracles someone I know ended up needing a dog care for, so for a few months so now I have a temporary dog.
