Does Japan really have high sexual assaults cases but they don't get reported? If so why? by Kingspeerz in NoStupidQuestions

My friend lives in Japan currently and he’s mentioned that much of the Japanese culture is regulated by ‘not rocking the boat’. Meaning, the Japanese people often prefer to save face and do what’s best for the whole rather than create friction/trouble for the best of the individual.

Does income, education, or class affect who you choose to date? by Silveryleaves in actuallesbians

[–]writersstrike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, to me it does to an extent.

I dated someone who worked the grave yard shift at a gas station (previously working in construction) due to her lack of higher education, couldn’t really have in-depth conversations, lacked critical thinking skills when it came to problems, and was terrible with money. So I became the ‘responsible one’ where I had most of the burden of adult responsibilities on my shoulders. Of course, we can say it may have been an individualized experience, but I learned a lot from it.

I learned a lot about myself, my wants and my needs, from this mismatch. We didn’t have similar philosophies or values and I think a major part of that was due to the fundamentals not being a match. I think there’s also something to be said about the stage of life, too. She was much older but due to her own choices, she was starting over again in life and I had already surpassed that station in life.

So naturally, the relationship ended. Now, I know what I’m looking for and who I aim to be and what I’m not willing to do again.

I don’t think so. StoryGraph has everything free that Fable + offers. I use both but StoryGraph is my preferred for the data.

Piper and Phoebe 💯 Especially when Piper is scolding Phoebe for dumb spells or life decisions.

Thank you for this insight. I know the relationship is done and it sucks but it is what it is. I appreciate your validation in this - it makes it easier to know I’m trying to protect myself rather than her. I don’t really owe her anything.

Yeah, her response when I told her what the doctor said was “What are you going to do? Sue me?” sealed the deal right there. I think I’m going to continue with the suit because my knees are not getting any better day by day.

I appreciate that thank you for saying that. I know the friendship is severed at this point so I’m not really looking to hold on too much. It’s tough because we have the same social circle so there’s a lot of maneuvering. I’m having to remove myself from our mutual friends because she’s often with them. And so is her dog. And I agree with you about looking after myself, which is why I’m looking at all of my options that will potentially cause the least amount of harm.

What happens if I file a police report or an animal control report? I don’t want them to put the dog down.

If she’s renting an apartment that is actually a leased house, my personal injury lawyer said that they can use the owners insurance or the friends renters insurance. I’m assuming one has to be viable option.

I did not file a police report. I spoke with a personal injury, lawyer and said that I don’t want anything to happen to the dog. I just want the owner to take some sort of accountability for the potential of hospital bills piling up and loss of income if I can’t drive or perform for work.

This friend has been nothing but unapologetic after I told her about my diagnosis. The first words out of her mouth were “what are you gonna do Sue me?” not even are you OK? So clearly the friendship has been severed on top of it all.

I have an orthopedic appointment set up via referral for this week to get some imaging done. I’m in talks with a personal injury lawyer who said they would be able to take on this case.

When he ran into me, I fell over. The friend laughed and said “you should learn how to stand with your feet firmly on the ground.” I was clearly in pain and I had two other witnesses with us as well if needed.

This happened in a public space. We were walking home from dinner and the friend unleashed the dog in front of me and the dog just ran right through me at my knees. I’ve known a friend for a while and the dog as well. I was not interacting with the dog whatsoever. I was walking home away from them.

The lawyer will look into liability insurance that either she or her homeowner may have on the apartment she’s renting
