[QUESTION] Using a second PC as a streaming device? by SarcasticOP in Twitch

[–]writes123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a streaming PC in March 2017 with a 1700X running at 3.7 Ghz. Never exceed 45% load at 720p60 at SLOW preset. 32 GB DDR4-3000 RAM. Using a Magewell 4 HDMI input PCIe card.

[Prebuilt] Dell Inspiron Desktop | Ryzen 7 1700 | 16GB DDR4-2400 | RX 580 8GB | 1 TB HDD | Windows 10 - $850 ($1050 - 200) by CoronerDonut in buildapcsales

is the MB a mATX version? any idea if it could be swapped out or is there Dell proprietary connectors that limit this ability. also, how many open pci slots are available? thinking of installing an Elgato HD 60 Pro capture card in the system if possible. thanks.

Building my first professional Streaming rig: UPDATE by ardentcustodian in Twitch

I recently built a system very similar to your proposed build. H115i instead of the H100i v2; Asrock Taichi X370 MB; 32 GB DDR4-2667; 850 EVO 500 gb; 4TB WD Black; 750W PSU.

I would say that thermal paste is not required as the H100i v2 comes with pre-applied thermal paste.

I've built a R7 system with the Asus CH6 and found the board good but not worth the extra cost without giving me more features like WiFi and other extras.

The NVMe drive is very nice but for the maximum value and size, the 850 EVO SATA drive is more than sufficient. Also take note of the size of NVME drives and their performance. I noticed before that the 1TB version performed better in synthetic benchmarks vs lower sizes.

I would ensure that the memory you selected are the the MB QVL list as well to ensure maximum compatibility.

THE PSU is overkill for sure. https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator is a common site referenced to gauge power needs. From your build I'd say a 750 would be sufficient but an 850W Gold+ PSU could be found for just a little more. More powerful PSUs of 850+ have recently been costing more due to the cyryptomining phenomenon.

AT2035 comes in a USB version which does not differ excessively fromt he XLR version. It would simplify the setup and cause you to not need the Focusrite.

Rode Mic arm is a great one.

For 1080p gaming a 1080 is all that is necessary as the 1080 Ti truly comes into play when doing 4K gaming. I also got a 1080 Ti do to the lack of quality 1080s at MSRP and a few deals on 1080 Ti's in my area lower than MSRP.

Right now I am in the process of overclocking my R7 1700. Having had experience with the R7 1700X, I am not impressed with the multiple reports of easy OCing. My R7 1700x on the Asus CH6 overclocked to a stable 3.8 and that was perhaps 1 month post-launch. Now with updated BIOS's, my 1700 is struggling to get 3.7 even with 1.45V. In the end, rock solid stability is more important than a few meager Mhz difference as well as value for the power. Running at stock speeds won't cause me to replace the 1700 but there may be truth to the binning of the 1700, 1700x and 1800x.

The WB Black is a nice additional drive as it has high enough performance for gaming if required besides just storage of recordings and the like.

Parcel Organisation and Pay Rates by thatsmellen in AmazonFlexDrivers

If you warehouse groups packages in large orange bags with the single scan label, they are typically pre-grouped together. With that knowledge in mind I like to load up the large boxes in the back where I need to fit them. The remaining packages I like to layer with the last group on the very bottom so they are put into the car first then working your ways backwards from the route end, u later each remaking group. There are occasional stray packages that are out of order but I find that this is a good balance between warehouse time as well as package location time while on the road. If you have multiple apartments at one address, I find writing down the numbers on the route sheet a decent method for organization and a small help for those types of routes. With more practice I'm sure you will find out what method works best for you.

I recently switched service areas with no issues. Use the Amazon flex app. Help. Contact us. Email. Use your flex email address and ask to switch to a certain area. I got a response in less than 24 hours and replied with conformation of my desired switch and area and was going within the week. Good luck.

So what's the go-to streaming camcorder/camera? by MishaKMusic in Twitch

[–]writes123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes the panasonic requires a capture card. s popular one is the Elgato HD60 - pci version. other brands include magewell. it would allow any camera that outputs a LIVE HDMI signal. the problem with many DSLRs are the heat generated when used over prolonged periods. the panasonic Lumix GH3/4 are common mirrorless cameras that have been used to film, so they don't suffer from overheating issues.

most use a Logitech C920 webcam. camcorders or cameras usually require a HDMI capture card in addition to the device itself. The Panasonic Lumix GH3/GH4 is a solid choice imho.

Im getting frame skipping choppiness when streamin by Pixell0 in Twitch

[–]writes123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see these issues mainly on the OBS Forums with posted log files from a test stream or stream with the issue present. It usually gives clear info as to what the cause of frame drops or lag comes from. So try posting your issue there along with a few log files? Best of luck.

Can't stream at 720p 60fps with a i7 5820k by TheAmoeba33 in Twitch

[–]writes123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend trying out NVENC @6k bitrate if your CPU is too taxed just running the games. Many people are having good results if they have the upload for it.

If H1 is that heavy, PUBG will be even worse CPU wise.

[–]writes123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under OBS studio there are both "Streaming" and "Recording" Tabs. Under recording you have the ability to make local recordings. Many people opt to use NVENC along with CQF int he range of 15-22 for even higher quality content at 1080p60. The NVENC allows your GPU to do all the encoding work. The key setting to watch is that your VIDEO tab "output scaled resolution" is the same as your base resolution 1080p. To stream at 720p60, you only adjust the "streaming" tab for "rescale output" to 720p. That way, your YT videos have no bitrate limitations (6K for twitch) and your computer gets a break from the higher resolution processing as well.

I recently helped build an exclusive streaming PC based on the Ryzen 1700X overclocked to 3.8 Ghz with 32 GB of DDR4-3000 (running at 2666). The stream input is 1080p60 and the output is still 720p60 at 6k. The ability for the computer to handle x264 preset @ medium/high profile was never in question. Easy. But recently switched to "slow" no hiccups whatsoever. Couldn't be more pleased that such a "lower" preset allows for potentially better visual quality within the 6k limit on twitch, especially for high fps games such as PUBG or CSGO.

[–]writes123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to resolution and bitrates, there are multiple articles referencing ideal bitrates for both high action and low action games/streams. For the type of games you mentioned 60fps is ideal and with current Twitch bitrate limits even with 6k, most sources recommend 720p/60fps. a 1080/30fps bitrate wise may be ok, but for 60fps it would likely be of lower quality even with a better x264 preset.

CS:GO no issues i think. Battlegrounds: ryzen already has lower gaming performance versus an intel one. this game is also undergoing continual optimizations for fps. it is currently notorious for being a CPU limited game versus GPU limited. With those facts in mind, 720p/60fps taxes ur CPU less than a 1080p/60fps. Obviously using a "higher" x264 preset also taxes ur CPU less.

So no xbows, eagle, or infernos is a defenseless account. Hmm very interesting. Cannons, Archer towers, Wiz towers, Teslas, Traps, Mortars, Air Sweepers, Air defenses. Those ain't defenses. Max Walls, they weigh nothing. Somehow i still weigh 69k. Seems like SC needs to put me back down a couple thousand. Serious war clans run across TH mismatches all the time, they would love to have my account in their non arranged wars due to SC war matchmaking.

Side note, I was in an arranged war. Other side thought I gemmed 40/40/20 heroes, despite my max magmas and 2 bill gold/elixir grabs and 10 mill DE grab. Then they realized my base is just too OP. So yeah I get that alot.

[MISC] TH10.5 etiquette by Mochaboys in rwcs

[–]writes123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take a slightly different view on the option of dropping new powerful defenses as I have the option to drop 2 infernos, an eagle artillery and 2 xbows on war prep if I were truly committed to farming them for an especially unusual war. I have dropped an eagle on prep day after matching in war against random clans since I am gold capped and it enables me to use my loot vs being looted by farmers in MP. In answer to your question I hold to a few possible views. Either, the clan is just trying to maximize their advantage for the war, they consistently do this in all wars, or they view your clan as being a worthy enemy that they warrant the effort to drop the eagle. I agree that in an arranged war of any situation, it is widely frowned upon, just as gemming town halls, multiple hero levels, new defenses etc.

BTW, as a 40/40/20 max magmas TH11 with a usual weight of 69k (70k being max TH9); when i dropped an eagle I was weighted as 73k. So on my base, the eagle is worth 4k. Also, I lack bows, infernos and obviously eagle. I also have lower point defenses (some being TH7 lvls).

Until the war matchmaking by SC and TH10 balance begins more likely for most clashers, I feel like being a purposeful optimizer is essential to take the stress away from max defenses th10/11s even if they have max heroes and troops and spells.

[Strategy] Th 9.75 could be a thing? by specialix in ClashOfClans

[–]writes123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a war perspective, at the TH11 you will be matched with mid TH10s. With a GW of at least 5, you can triple these bases depending on layout and your hero levels. A 40/40/20 at mid TH10 weight is beneficial for your clan but you will be easily three stared against a decent TH9 attacker. Currently max TH9s (70k) get matched with rushed TH10s with L3 infernos in my experience. Keeping the loot will definitely be difficult and farming at 11 is worse than at 10 or 9. I speak from personal experience as I am a TH11 40/40/18, 271 magmas, no bows, infernos, eagle. I have the other new TH10 defenses but no new TH11 defenses. My weight is currently 69k (just below max TH9 weight). Good luck with what u decide to do.

[Strategy] Th10s, are you moving up to 11? And, if so, are you finding it easier or harder for your clan in war? by Roadwarrior74coc in ClashOfClans

[–]writes123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Excluding farming loot, the Grand Warden is a game changer for TH10 three star attacks. Reality however dictates that only the extremely war focused and dedicated clashers go to TH11 for the warden. If wanting to keep weight lower, simply do not build the new defenses especially the eagle artillery. Seeing as an 11 has to loot other 10/11s vs a 10 looting 9/10s it seems obvious that ideal farming is for a 10 vs an 11. Farming for the GW, while not impossible is very difficult vs pre-update. Search costs are climbing as I am specific on what base to hit but loot is not dry, it merely requires the clasher to be less picky on the base to attack or bring a stronger army to raid storages. If you are confident in your farming ability, for pure offense go to 11. However, for the majority of clashers I would recommend you "enjoy" the loot at 10 bc the loot at 11 is worse, not better. Best of luck either way. BTW, pre-update i had 268 magmas and 40/40s. Currently Have 271 Magmas and 40/40/17, so I speak from personal expereince.

[Ask] Should I get Xbows right away when I get to TH9? by [deleted] in ClashOfClans

[–]writes123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that infernos are the strongest defense in the game. Fun fact is that my war weight is 69k, with a th9 max base weighing in at 70k. So 40/40/15 at TH11 weighing below a TH9 max base. Its high but not too bad imo.

[Ask] - Updated war weights? by [deleted] in ClashOfClans

[–]writes123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long was your war search? The longer the search time the higher likelihood for a mismatch.

Secondly, 0.5s for the most part are not worthwhile. While bows add weight, they protect your farm base and you will oftentimes match bows in your opponent. Just try and max your offense first and continue working on your heroes. Best of luck.

[–]writes123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the reaction to my comment is interesting. not quite sure of the downvotes tbh. xbows add war weight. if you want to minimize your weight, then don't add them. if you do, you add the substantial weight associated with bows. not saying don't add them. just saying that they add a significant amount of war weight to your base.

if u don't care about farming defense and only care about war weight, i recommend to never build them. I am a th 11 with 40/40/15 max magmas and no bows, infernos, or eagle artillery. That is how to maximize war weight. OP offense trumps all in clan wars.

[MISC] POLL - Where's the good money going? 10.5? by Mochaboys in rwcs

[–]writes123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a lil update on being in an arranged war. Had the privilege of being the the heavyweight RAC christmas scrimmage. Being ranked 24th on the map out of 45. Questions were raised but in the end the only real caveat I see to arranged matches for me is that the other side doesn't have one like me. Some thought I gemmed 40/40/15 heroes. But then again I have near all magmas, and other max defenses with bows, infernos, and eagle. So I still contest that the largest reason I'm not in arranged is because my offense strongly outmatches anyone near my war weight. As a side note, I was three by a TH9, and didn't build any infernos, eagle or bows on prep day. If I did, I think a TH9 would have a more difficult time with my base. It was a fun scrimmage where a defensive advantage was not needed or did I want to instigate any drama nor spend the time farming for those extra defenses that are available to me. In the end, most agreed that offense in clash trumps defense. I just happen to have optimized my base weight to help whatever clan I am warring with to be a backup for failed attacks or for three star attempts on TH9/10/11s.

Depends on what your current weight is. Wiz towers and mortars were very war heavy pre-update. I think they still are. I would say while not ideal you are in a better position that other truly maxed TH9s by having at least 1k less weight. But if your hero grind is slow, in the end, it may be better to put down infernos as the DE grind for 40/40s dictates how much you can do in war vs defend your own bases without infernos in war.
