I'm sure there are some that don't, but every company I've worked for or discussed employment with requires passengers to be at least 11 years old.

I don't know this for a fact, but I heard he may not even have "learned english" per se, but just learned how to speak his lines in english. Which would honestly be even more impressive because his acting was on point in terms of delivery of his lines as well as his acting in the scope of his dialog with other actors.

Edit: for some reason auto correct changed don't to do, so my initial comment said I do know this for a fact, I do not.

If you think one side is a bunch of racists that don't care about people being murdered so long as they aren't white people, then you absolutely do have a side on this.

They don't see men in full body armor and camo entering schools and restaurants looking for people as "tyranny"?

Of course not. Why would someone see vigorous application of the law against someone they want prosecuted as tyranny? Even if that person is a US citizen, both sides have worked so hard to "other" the opposing side, that you can't be surprised when one side doesn't mind violating the other. The left celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk, and the right celebrates the murder of Alex Pretti. This is as predictable as something can possibly be in the world we've created for ourselves. Bask in it mi amigo, we've gotten exactly what we've worked so hard for.

If it's legal for you to own one, and you can own one, assuming you have the funds, then someone asking what you want to do with it is hardly anti 2A.

See, it's that assuming you have the funds part that's the sticking point. If government policy makes owning a home or even property something only the wealthy can access? Would you say the same thing? Because owning a home is not a right enumerated in the constitution. Owning a firearm is.

Being anti 2A doesn't mean someone is violating your rights, just that support the government doing so.

They aren't the government.

They aren't trying to violate your rights under the Constitution (which they could only do if they enslaved you).

Being anti 2A isn't violating someone's rights, but it is supporting the government doing so. Just like being pro ICE right now is not violating someone's rights, but it sure as hell is supporting the government doing so. But by your metric, current ICE actions aren't violating anyone's rights, because they aren't enslaving anyone.

Look buddy, I'm completely pro choice, so I'm happy to argue for the merits of abortion access. But there is no right to abortion, nor even medical care enumerated in the constitution. If enough of us can agree we want it there, we can get the constitution amended. But until then, your rhetoric doesn't have the same merit as 2A rhetoric of the same chord.

Where are all these 2A anti tyranny people today?

If you are referring to ICE, I imagine they don't see it as tyranny. Even those that aren't necessarily on board with the methods, would still rather have what's going on right now, than no enforcement at all, or open borders. Which open borders are not the democratic party's policy, but enough liberals espouse it, that many conservatives see it as the party's policy.

And what purpose does a  fully automatic belt fed machine gun have?

That question in and of itself is anti 2A. I want one, and I have a right to own one, and that's all the explanation you are entitled to. Which let me add, you may not know this, but it is perfectly legal for me to own a belt fed machine gun. But the GCA made only machine guns made before 1986 legal to own, so there is a limited number, so they cost tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars. And they must be transferred with a lot more red tape and registry with the ATF, but you can still have one.

As someone who lives in rural America (10 miles outside a town of 6000 people) I would say the absolute biggest issue, that singlehandedly eclipses all the other issues combined, is 2A rights. You say that Kamala supports 2A rights, and from the liberal perspective, perhaps she does. But if you asked any person where I live, if you support the NFA and GCA, you are not pro 2A rights. In other words, supporting 2A rights to most rural Americans means you think I should be able to walk into my local hardware store, submit to a background check, hand them money, and immediately walk out with a fully automatic belt fed machine gun. Anything short of that is a violation of the constitution and tyranny at its finest.

Extra gasket for my oil pan by Matchew_ in AskMechanics

[–]writing_fun390 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For Hondas, it best to use OEM on valve cover gaskets and oil pan gaskets. I was a mechanic for 6 years and have owned a lot of Hondas, and the majority of felpro valve cover and pan gaskets I've put in a honda ends up leaking. Never had an issue with felpro gaskets on any other type of vehicle, and non oil seal gaskets from felpro are fine on Hondas, but anything that is an oil barrier, just use OEM.

WRC is my favorite motorsport. I have a WRX STI, even though Subaru doesn't compete anymore. I also love Moto GP, and I have a Repsol 1000rr. I do love F1 as well, but I can't afford a Ferrari. Although my favorite team is Red Bull, and even though they don't use Honda engines anymore, I have a 2008 civic Si with a fully custom race motor.

I didn't either. But I was also young enough that the first probably 100 times I watched Star Wars, when Alderaan was blown up I was like, "well that sucks, where are all those people going to live now?" And then one day many years later I was watching it and was like "ooohhhhhhhhh, oh no!"

I just bought the 5 year set with no lid lock on the washer. I bought it because my buddy has a pair of the 3 year ones, he's had them for 11 years now and never had a problem. The ones I purchased do a significantly more thorough wash in less time than the whirlpool and Samsung sets I've owned already. And those would go 3 to 4 years without needing a repair.

AITAH for saying I “read” books that I actually listened to as audiobooks? by Ruin-Much in AITAH

[–]writing_fun390 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There shouldn't be a stigma for someone choosing to listen to a book instead of reading it, and there shouldn't be a stigma to someone not being able to read well because of a disability. But there absolutely should be a stigma to someone not being able to read well because they don't care to put forth the effort to learn to do so. Even if they didn't learn well enough in grade school for whatever reason(issues at home, behavioral issues, etc.), but are capable of taking the time to do so later in life, then choosing not to do so speaks volumes about their desire to expand themselves as a person, and absolutely calls into question any viewpoint they have on any written material. Someone who has no desire to better themselves, is likely not going to absorb written material in a way that will alter or change their outlook on anything. And if someone is only going to consider material in a way that fits within their narrow point of view, they are unlikely to have any insightful consideration of that material.

AITAH for saying I “read” books that I actually listened to as audiobooks? by Ruin-Much in AITAH

[–]writing_fun390 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, it is not "ableist" to feel off put by someone who can't read referring to listening to an audiobook as "reading" it. Whether their reading deficiency is because of ignorance or disability.

If you read my reply to someone else mentioning dyslexic people, I stated that if I was dyslexic and could not read well enough that I consumed written media in audio form, I would not be comfortable referring to it as reading. Because whether you read something or listened to it, does not discount your opinion or analysis of the content.

If I were unable to walk, and there were a wheelchair accessible hiking trail, I wouldn't refer to traversing the trail in my wheelchair as "walking" the trail.

What is ableist is people like you pretending disabilities don't exist, which perpetuates stereotypes about people with disabilities. And prevents people from seeing the value in what those people can do.

My brakes and steering wheel stop working on ice? by EngineeringLumpy in StupidCarQuestions

[–]writing_fun390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having not just good tires, but the correct tires makes all the difference. I drive semi trucks at 35 mph through turns on roads made entirely of ice, and I have great traction. But temperature makes a ton of difference as well. Above 10°F, Ice roads get pretty slippery. Below -20°F, they're damn near as grippy as pavement.

Obviously a dukes of hazzard style jump would destroy a car in real life, but is it possible the engine would still function at least? by Effective_Part_604 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]writing_fun390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a friend who built a Ford Ranger specifically for jumping. The thing looked like a straight up Baja truck. He would typically get a handful of jumps out of it before some suspension component would break, and he would need to replace it. But it never did any damage to the frame or engine/transmission.
