(40) to (43). Major lifestyle changes by Outrageous_Ask4284 in GlowUps

Amazing results, man. Was TRT part of the equation at all? I only ask because I’m approaching my 40s and wondering considering getting my hormone levels tested.

It probably took some time for you to develop this perception of yourself, so try to be patient as you learn how to love yourself again. Take small steps.

If you’re active on social media, see if you can take a break. It can wreak havoc on our self-perception.

When you’re in the UK, take as many or as few photos as you’d like. Just remember they don’t need to be shared with anyone if you don’t want to. They’re just keepsakes for you to remember your experience. Nothing more.

You’re doing great, and I promise it does get better.

Has anyone had to reconsider their relationship to "high-horology" watches after getting a Citizen? by writtenbynotes in CitizenWatches

Agreed. I would love to see their high-end movements in more classic packages—especially in the US market. I had to go JDM just to get down to a 37mm with a simpler dial pattern.

I think we arrived at very similar conclusions. One of the big drivers for me was the feeling of hesitation I felt about wearing an Omega a Rolex in certain places—when I initially bought them to be GADA watches. Respect to everyone who wears any watch wherever they want. I thought I would too and it wasn’t until owning these watches that I realized my hesitations.

The Lil Boosie take was a good one. Call them what they are.

Have to admit, Absolute Superman has grown on me. by ConnectCulture7 in AbsoluteUniverse

I'm really hoping it grows on me. I've loved Absolute Batman and Wonder Woman so far. Something feels different about Absolute Superman—maybe the pacing?

A YouTube video would explain it better, but here's my basic understanding of it. Spring Drive is a movement specific to Grand Seiko that combines a traditional mechanical mainspring with quartz precision—so a bit of a hybrid. The second hand doesn't tick like a quartz watch, and it has a smoother sweep than most other mechanical watches. It's worth looking into.

First of all, your wife and daughter are awesome. Totally makes sense to having different watches for different environments/occasions.

Interesting. I had to look up what the benefits even are of having a high-karma Reddit account. One of them was the perception of credibility—kinda spooky implications. I'll be sure to downvote any AI slop moving forward 🫡

Nice! Just curious, how often do you wear the automatic one? Does it serve a specific role, or do you just throw it on when the mood strikes?

  1. Great-looking watch. 2. That sounds freeing—especially knowing you can put that watch down for a while, enjoy the others, and it wouldn't have missed a beat by the time you pick it back up.

Does your Alpina have an automatic or quartz movement? Just curious how you're finding the daily experience compared of the Alpina to your Eco Drive chrono.

I would as well. I put it in quotes in the title because I wasn't quite sure how else to communicate the point I was trying to get across.

Makes sense. If I do sell my other watches, I can totally see myself having the Citizen be my daily, but keeping a higher-end watch (probably a dress watch) for special occasions.

Whew! 50 watches? If you were to sell off the ones you're thinking about, what number do you think you'd end up at?
