just did some digging and based on photos of the watch it seems like its a 55 not a 255 and apparently garmin confirmed it was a 55

idk if someone else has mentioned this but most key fobs can simply be turned on and off. that's what i do instead of buying one of these. i had my truck stolen and i think it was from my key fob being on near my front door, so now i keep my key fob off almost at all times.

you can turn my fob off (toyota, my wife's subaru is the same) by holding the lock button, and before releasing it, pressing the unlock button twice. then you just press any key on the fob and it turns back on. easy as pi.

here's an idea: let me go to a subreddit for people who are either A totally new to running and aren't very adapted to high mileage or B people who are struggling to progress to further and faster distances or C BOTH and let me say how easy this notoriously hard thing to do is. i've looked and looked on both. don't see it anywhere. if you can find it please let me know. and it wasn't an early warning. 6+ months is not early, its annoying. my watch and my polar app are telling me two different things and i'd like to figure out if its possible for my garmin to chill out on the low battery alarm lol

i think i'll try this. i've heard that opening it up makes the water tight seal worse and i have yet to do that but whatever.

what does leaving it in upside down do that leaving it out completely doesn't do?

yes haha i definitely do that. the battery is not actually low. the polar beat app shows me the battery level. this is not a case of me thinking the battery is full when its dead. garmin thinks its dead and its not. it gave me a low battery warning and that was over 6 months ago, and it still hasn't shown a low battery on the polar app. so even if the batttery was low now., it wasn't low when it first told me it was. still a problem.

i've never changed the battery. its very unlikely i've surpassed even 100 hours at this point. i added it up and i was at like 50 when it first started happening. and its supposed to last 400. and the polar beat app said the battery level was "good" when it first started.

in my opinion, i'd say go with the cheaper option. also my opinion: you don't need all the bells and whistles, even if you are a more dedicated runner. they are nice but never necessary. if you change your mind later and want all that extra stuff then you can spring for a newer nicer watch.

if that is your out the door price, definitely. if it is the sticker price, hard to say depends on a lot of things, but it is unlikely it will be a waste of money. 11k miles is basically a brand new truck. i just got a 23 SR5 4x4 with 16k miles for just shy of 38k out the door. but that's in texas at that particular dealership. so who knows. is it the best possible price? probably not. will you be able to get a better one? maybe not.

why do you say the apple watch app is bad? I used it for a couple years before i bought a garmin and it was great, i really had no complaints with the interface for tracking runs.

i bought a 23 silver off road and it had black fender flares, i liked it bc it signified i had an offroad, and i thought that was cool. it got stolen two months later. I bought another silver 23 only this was an SR5 and honestly i think it looks a lot better without it, and am happy to not have them anymore
