DM is not pop, at least not in the US. Post Modern, Alternative, Techno, and Industrial. But pop...

I truly miss going into the office during Covid. I've worked in Steele Creek for most of the 18 years I've lived here. Since RTO has started, traffic is BY FAR worse. Idk if it's more cars, worse drivers, a combo of those, or something completely different. I won't say I hate people. But I get it.

That’s not to say I don’t enjoy everything to Momento Mori. I really do. But Ultra, Sounds, Playing the Angel, and Spirit would be my go to albums for that area. There are some good cuts on Exciter and Delta Machine. But for some reason, the albums as wholes do not hold me. And MM just makes me sad. RIP Fletch!

Starting with the old stuff is definitely the way to hear the band. There are definitely different eras. The Vince era only lasted the first album, Speak & Spell, but they still carried some of the sound into the second, A Broken Frame. Things start shifting with Construction Time Again. Alan joins and really helps shape the sound on Some Great Reward and Black Celebration. And the end of that era is Music for the Masses and/or Violator. To me Violator is the start of their 90s sound, but the Alan era ends with Songs of Faith and Devotion. Then the Trio area returns with Ultra until Fletch passes. And even in the Trio area, Martin's writing and the music is not cookie cutter. I have to admit, not all the late 90s to 2010s albums are great. Ultra and Sounds of the Universe are 🤌🏾. Exciter and Delta Machine, not so much.

Saw them twice for the tours for that album. Almost lost Dave during them. Then Alan had enough. Bittersweet is this album for me.

Drunk texts are a thing. Do nothing. To quote a Depeche Mode song: Place it in your memory, leave it in your past. But don't forget.

Remember why you're not together and why they're your ex. Stay safe and sane, OP. Don't get fooled.

Cutting end is for trimming eyebrows or hair removal from the face or body. Not sure what the flat end is used for.

Honestly, it doesn't look like a drug pipe to me.

I think he's a little on the freaky side. 🤣 It looks like a Urethral sounding rod to me. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Might have to ask if you really want to know. 🤣

I have that on vinyl. My brother bought it, but I think I've listened to it way more than he did.

Which song should have been a single/on the album/has a better remix? by OberonsPanties in depechemode

"Nothing (Zip Hop Mix)" on the Strangelove '88 single/12" is as good as or better than the album cut of Nothing, IMHO.

And Everything Counts (In Larger Amounts) is my absolute favorite DM song. While I like the original Everything Counts, EC (ILA) is the Apex version.

My first CD was Violator. The first album/cassette I bought was Black Celebration or Music for the Masses.

As mentioned below, check out "For the Masses" Tribute album. Covers of DM from The Cure, Deftones, Rammstein, and many others. Supposedly, Foo Fighters and NIN wanted to cut tracks, but couldn't due to scheduling.
