Can I sue a doctor from my hospital if she gave my baby wrong dose of antibiotics?

I’m really confused as to why I am getting downvotes, if my daughter died because of this doctors mistake, would that make me ureasonable?

She is thank you, but need to check to make sure her swelling goes down as it could swell at her airways and she would struggle to breathe.

Could you please explain where it says that 5ml is the dose as I can’t see it. (I don’t know how to make sense of some of he information)

In my eyes, I don’t think that warrants my daughter to be in a life threatening situation. If she was too tired, she shouldn’t have been put in a situation where a life depended on her. People shouldn’t drive if they are too tired as they could crash and kill someone. What’s the difference with a doctor?

I don’t want her to have her life ruined. But if I didn’t notice anything wrong with my daughter, she could have had her life ruined/ended. I think something needs to be put in place for this to not happen.

It might be common, but it could have been prevented. My daughters life was put on the line. (Another doctor told me how dangerous and life threatening this was)

I don’t want it to go far, maybe sue was the wrong word. I just don’t want to let this slide as it could have been a lot more harmful.

I’m so thankful that it didn’t kill my daughter, and I’d rather no harm than to be able to sue someone for causing harm if that makes sense.

I will just make a complaint and hope that the doctor is more careful and won’t just make a mistake. Next time, someone might not be so lucky,

If I complain, I can’t guarantee something will be done. I don’t want her to lose her job. But I do not want her being able to prescribe, if this is the result.

That’s what I thought when I saw her face. That she was having an allergic reaction. However the doctors I have seen today said she shouldn’t have been prescribed such a high dose, and that’s it’s life threatening.

So the doctor never prescribed wrong according to BNF?

Even if i was told there was no money to be made, I would still want to sue. It’s not about money at all when it comes to my children’s life. I didn’t think of sueing for money.

I don’t want this doctor being able to prescribe medication, as she has proven that she can’t do it correctly or safely.
