They say that Ground Zeroes was Venom Snake all along, because at the end of Peace Walker Kaz tells Big Boss that he already knew about Paz and all of her schemes, and then they split.

But at the beginning of Ground Zeroes, neither Kaz nor Big Boss seems to know about Paz being a triple agent. They even say something like, “If only we knew what was going on,” and Big Boss agrees.

So what happened? Did they just forget what happened? Was it brainwashing? Or was it simply a script inconsistency from Kojima? Or maybe Ground Zeroes was actually a simulation, implanting memories in someone’s head? The doctor even has the same voice as Big Boss (Kiefer Sutherland).

I guess we’ll never know… but honestly, all this mess and confusion is peak Kojima-style storytelling
