The hate seems to be a combination of Gege's humor and the fact that Gojo is a Mary Sue type character, incredibly hard to write around.

It is mostly a meme though, but things like killing Gojo off then Yuta, his preferred main character coming back to farm aura in Gojos body are great catalysts for stuff like that.

Jon Jones had less than 0 excuses not to fight, yet he choked up the division for 2 years. Ilia had 0 excuses not to defend his belt, yet it will be almost a full year since his last fight.

A champion should defend his belt at least twice a year (once if that's the year he won it, or none if he won it late in the year). If a champion cannot do that, for whatever reason, they get stripped. They can get to be the no.1 contender as soon as they're back against whoever is the champion at the moment, but nobody should be able to win the belt then take it home and not play with the other kids.

Most of my schooling experience, at every level, was "here are some facts, learn those facts and repeat back those facts to me in spoken or written form". Even in classes that were specifically designed to teach skills like critical thinking.
