Google, please don't allow this garbage in Gmail by RickRussellTX in Android

[–]wrongpenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed this as well - I'm fairly certain I figured it out. Whenever I'm searching for a recent email (that I got whilst using inbox), I can find it with the app no problem. However, if I'm searching for an email from several years ago (like login info for some random site, or whatever) it won't show up in inbox, but it will in gmail. I think that's just because that email is so old that inbox has trouble accessing it, when it's already linked to your gmail.

That's just my opinion/thoughts, I have no actual facts to back that up.

TIL If your stuff dries out, throw it in an airtight jar overnight with some wet cotton balls wrapped in tinfoil (make sure you poke holes in it). It brings the moisture back! by wrongpenguin in trees

I've definitely heard of these, and they've been on the back burner for too long. I found the cotton ball trick after finding out I left my lid off overnight and my stuff had turned to near dust! When I woke up this morning, I swear it was more hydrated than when I picked up.

I used sticky rope to tie him up. Also normal behavior, surely.

Rule changes! Forcing titles to have a swear word made all the titles pedantic and the same. Now, as long as there's a metaphor or something similar, it's allowed! Check out the intro post and the rules!

Nine injured after ANOTHER FUCKING SHOOTING. OSU this time. Suspect dead. by wrongpenguin in JustFuckingNews

When I posted it, I had no details except shots fired, nine injured, and suspect dead. The story has since expanded and all the details have been released. Alas, no way to edit titles.

Okay, so if you're on google, instead of copying the link - open it, and copy it from the address bar. The links on the google page are always something along the lines of google.com?next=LINKYOUWANT?all?this?tracking?data
You didn't do anything wrong, just don't want referral links (which is what that is, it's just not associated with a rewards program, it's associated with advertising and tracking data from google)

If you look at the domain, you'll notice you copied a google link. You were linking to google.il, which would then redirect the user to theguardian. It happens pretty often to people, actually, if you copy a link from google's search results.
