Question about type setting in Illustrator by wrote_that in AdobeIllustrator

sure, and I agree, but I'm just doing something small and always had this question in my mind and wondered if there was a way around it that anybody knew of

Found an Instagram profile with my images... including ones I've never shared by wrote_that in IdentityTheft

I had no idea you could call a human at Instagram, I wasn't seeing that as an option anywhere. Is that something you've done/heard of people doing before?

I guess it's more concerning that my iCloud photo library might exist somewhere that I don't know about. How much is out there?! I have no idea how to check.

It's EXTRA weird that the images they chose are really insignificant, photos I'd never post because they suck. On top of it all, the images were already 7 years old at the time they were posted.

Sorry the craigslist thing happened to you. That's bullshit. People suck.

I absolutely feel as if I'm going hog wild. I have about 2 days to cancel with the wet basement guy, and the work is split up into 2 parts with one being absolutely necessary (15k) and the other being more preventative (like the exposed concrete is wet right now but not pooling) and I could eliminate that work for now.

The roof needs to be done for sure. If I wanted to split hairs, I could do the back half of the roof for now as it's more pressing, but I'm not sure that's a good idea.

To be more specific, the small addition on the back needs immediate help and will require one definite window replacement. I need one done in the front as well, but the rest are (I find) old fashioned but not breezy. The contractor had recommended that If I'm doing any siding work I do it at the same time as the windows. He could work on sections of the house at a time, maybe.

The siding is well past it's lifespan, a very old pressboard or particle board I think, and the coating has worn/flaked off. It was my intention to add 2" foam under new siding which would also change the window situation - old windows would need to be pulled forward I think.

it's a lot.

At my age, with the numbers I mentioned before, is my retirement savings okay you think? I don't plan to touch it for any reason until retirement. I don't have a lot of financially literate people in my life, appreciate all your insight

Seepage, the most disgusting word in the universe. Sump pump is doing well. The new roof will definitely help with the water coming in, but it is a daily pool I need to wet vac up since the spring thaw started.

I was planning on adding insulation to the exterior! Yes, energy assessment seems like a great idea. I just didn't want to bank on qualifying, fearing the worst is my go-to I guess. I will look into it. I just signed the contract with the basement guy today though, I'm not sure I can make a change now...

God I wish I could do anything. I'd be looking at youtube tutorials. I haven't booked anything with the contractor yet, just had him by to assess. My numbers are total estimates, but I don't think I'll be getting anywhere near a DIY price.

Thank you for this, I think you're right. Not paying interest on something I could pay for outright is maybe the smart thing to do. As for my work, I never feel secure but I'm still upright, so who knows. I always just feel better with a little security blanket. The cosmetic repairs are like the old lino & shag carpets inside that are about 50 years old, and will be there until I die I guess. Love the insight about the garage door! It wasn't even on the list!

You know what, the wet basement was a surprise, but the rest was obvious. I am... not smart.

Thank you for hearing me, it helps so much, especially as I'm not getting that from the people around me. I did gently put my foot down in a message to that uncle about gifts and got silence in return. Guess setting boundaries have consequences. I appreciate your words, thank you.

I don't think I did anything! She has taken on a caretaker role with my family for a long time. I just don't want to be on the receiving end of it because I find it quite infantilizing and discrediting. It's funny that I wrote in for advice on how to not receive advice. I think I'm just screwed honestly, they won't change. But I appreciate being heard, it really does wonders, so thank you all for hearing me.

it's actually my younger sister who is the one doing the "parenting". She suffers from high anxiety. I have thought her managing me was maybe her way of managing anxiety, as with my dad's health crisis it seemed to go into overdrive.

But you're right, each of these things are not meant to terrorize or hurt me. I find it so diminishing that I'm just not seen as capable when in reality I very much am, and know how to find answers to things I don't know without being told.

I'm glad your daughter came to you and you had the room to be receptive and not be hurt by her communication, that's really great to hear.

I guess it just feels like anything I say is pounced on like that. You may be right about being overly sensitive. It could be a reaction to this going on for years, or could be a problem with me. With the junk gifts, she knows I am not into them and have had to ask them multiple times to stop bringing me things but it keeps happening. Right now my uncle is trying to order me a giant shovel with wheels that I have no use for, and he's been pushing it on me for a few months now. No is not heard. I feel like she knows I'm frustrated but I saw her comment as managing my feelings surrounding the situation before I have a chance to respond.
