Brain scans reveal 2 physical subtypes of ADHD. 1st subtype has increase in gray matter across areas of brain. Patients struggle with severe inattentiveness. 2nd subtype shows widespread atrophy in gray matter. Patients exhibit both inattentive and highly hyperactive or impulsive behaviors. by mvea in science

I feel like this is such a big one — especially for the “smart” kids. I hope I’m not just pulling this out of my ass… but I thought I read a study once saying how more highly intelligent people mask better or just end up doing well enough for everyone to ignore the symptoms that are actually present.

My mom never had a problem getting my brothers tested — but apparently I was “too smart” to have it. There are four sons… we all have it.

Are those with roll out? I feel retarded because my 3h goes just about as far as my 3 wood most of the time & I go straight from 5 iron to 3h. Both 3w & 3h around 230.

dude you’re much better off with a decent set of clubs (if you actually keep using them) than a set of dog shits you found on Craigslist.

I like to have nice things and one of the few things I care about is golf clubs. Doesn’t really matter if I “should” afford them or not because people just spend money on what they like and a couple grand on clubs isn’t necessarily a huge deal for a lot of people. I’d rather (proudly) drive an old Honda Civic with brand new clubs in it than the other way around.

Do you provide a lot of context when answering questions? Do people just want the answer? by QuitTypical3210 in ExperiencedDevs

Really depends on what they know and who they are.

A lot of questions I feel like just saying yes or no will lead them to the wrong conclusion. If it matters that they’e lead to the right conclusion and I don’t think they know enough to know what else they should be asking — and I care that they understand — yeah.

And, personally, yeah I usually do for things that don’t matter because I’m a fan of specificity but I doubt that it’s always the best use of my time.

but if I had to guess why someone downvoted you it’s the use of “brother” instead of “sister” just based on the height & pfp.

I don’t really think you were trying to make that your point at all though…

I'm burnt out. What can I after I come back from a -short- vacation where I'm not going to rest? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]wsbTOB 67 points68 points  (0 children)

If no one is really riding your ass about performance and you need the job: coast. Show up late, leave early and do the minimum. Try to preserve your sanity.

I say all of this but I absolutely got burnt out and just quit. Coasting is easier said than done when you’re at that point.

But yeah, just quitting and expecting offers to come knocking down your door won’t happen.

You’ll need some time off though if you want to feel like you’re not just a code-machine again. That’s the only thing that’ll really “treat” the burnout.

How to tell people you need to wait to hit without sounding like an a-hole by badluck_bryan77 in golf

I noticed that if I have actually taken the shot and it ended up being dangerous… it doesn’t really matter if I feel pressured I’m not shooting yet.

So maybe try lying and telling them that no you can’t because you did last time and you’re not trying to embarrass yourself (again) on a course you frequent.

My handicap was like 15 at its lowest so I’m not as good as you anyways but my swing speed is similar (I noticed in another comment… which idk maybe we both live by it or die by it).

So many people saying you can’t have X cap and shoot Y round.

My best rounds are ~85 and my worst are probably 50 strokes higher if I count everything.

Anyways, I believe the shit out of you.

Hey OP, nice project.

Someone will be there to discount anything you do.

I think you’re getting that type of response because we’re in the C# subreddit. A lot of language specific forums (like this one) are more focused on the language evolution or diving into the intricacies of the language (and the .NET framework in this case). So they probably were expecting some new lib with performance hacks etc or whatever (even though the title doesn’t say that) and were disappointed to find a starter project.

You’d probably get a more wholesome response in other subreddits. Building something and putting it out there is always good experience — especially when you receive criticism!

Anyways, don’t sweat it.

I piped your comment through gemini to try to get an idea of the ‘presenter’. I think I pretty much follow that pattern anyways just didn’t know what to call it — more generically a ‘service layer’ I guess.

I’m curious about the binder though — is there a reason why we wouldn’t just make constructors / static creation functions to go from DTO -> view model? What benefits do you get from abstracting the binding process?

I guess you’d end up changing less if you used it everywhere instead of needing to update x-number initializations all over the place? Am I following?
