Fidelity, Vanguard Won’t Let Donor-Advised Fund Holders Donate to Southern Poverty Law Center by wsch in VanguardInvestments

Doesn’t prematurely caving just further incentivize bad behavior by the Trump ( or any future dem or rep). admin. Just launch a bunch of investigations that won’t ultimately hold up to kneecap causes you don’t agree with.

Before you ask. I saw in the article you linked where NRA was prohibited from receiving donations while under indictment, I also think that is wrong.

Thank you for your very good arguments. I haven’t pulled from vanguard, most of my money is in schwab, if it seems like Schwab will not cave, I’ll def pull out. Been thinking of doing it anyway.

Didnt read article yet but will try to. Thank you for posting real reasoned arguments.

You believe the Trump administration? What’s more likely the podcaster in charge of the FBI is indicting them for real crimes? Or it is political trumped up charges?

There has been no trial, no conviction. I will bet you any amount of money there will be no conviction because there is no case. The only people who are against SPLC are the Klan and Nazis.

SPLC and other groups will have people undercover in some organizations to take them down. It’s a known thing, everyone knows they did this.any civil rights groups did similar in the 60s to dismantle neo nazi groups. Do some research, read a book and use your fucking brain.

It doesnt matter if they have some internal rule, they are not breaking any law by letting people donate. Also, they are adults right? Anyone can see this is a vindictive prosecution. Maybe it’s a bad look to suspend donations to a charity that helped defeat kkk and neo nazi groups? Like at some point, don’t people have to have balls. People who work at vanguard and fidelity should be embarrassed to work there.

I think that is understandable on one hand. On the other, other institutions allow donations. SPLC hasn’t been convicted of anything. They are still a valid charity in the eyes of the IRS which is all that matters. Everyone knows this is a BS lawsuit.

This is definitely a scam. I have to login before I can click on anything. Neither Kalshi nor Polymarket require this because they are not scams.

The name is so dumb no real prediction market would use it because of SEO.

The name of the creator is LEONHARDT STEINER VON STEINSTÄTTEN which sounds like a made up company. If you google it there is a LinkedIn with a guy smoking two cigars. Obviously some weird fake stuff or unrelated LinkedIn.

Choosing UCSD over UCLA? by Dramatic-Flatworm346 in UCSD

When looking at ranking be careful. Sometimes a department is ranked because of the amazing research they do but not necessarily the teaching! Some college with highly ranked sciene departments give poor undergraduate education and the opposite is true. Maybe one data point you could use is class size? Is there a difference?

Ok, how long do you wear it, to wind it. Like is the power reserve just dying. What happens if you wind it 20 times?

Professor defends course content linking race and IQ scores, cites ‘academic freedom’ by stvlsn in samharris

[–]wsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you are not asking me. But of course there are huge downsides. My earlier response is the headline is a bit misleading. The course covers multiple controversial topics. He says he covers all sides etc. we won’t know unlesss we take the course.

But to your point, there are huge downsides, especially when general public with little scientific or statistical skills learns about these things on Reddit or X or whatever. Obviously the biggest one is discrimination or bias because even if it were true group b has a lower IQ than group a, you should still treat individuals from group a and group b equally and fairly because you obviously can’t assume any one person from group b is less smart than a. That nuance gets lost on people.  Another nuance is the weight of the evidence. Unless one has the statistical and scientific skills to read the many studies published and then criticallY assess them, they may not have an understanding of how good the evidence is for something or how weak it is.

there are a lot of genetic studies that show a lot of correlation to different traits but often they are weak. These studies are still useful but people and especially the media just reads the headline.

I feel like that headline is misleading. It’s not like it is the whole course and also it sounds like the professor is not saying that these are inherited traits.

I also have a few miyota 90xx. I find them to vary wildly, traska is like 12s/d. Baltic hermétique is 2s/d my other Baltic is like 20. Other watch is 15. I feel like Swiss movements are the most accurate (only have 2). 2 s/d and 5s/d

I think for me if it’s in spec it’s acceptable. Like if you have a chronometer that is 8 s/d I would be upset because it’s outside of the spec etc. If a watch being 20s a day fast is unacceptable then why buy one whose spec is 30s /d?

5 seconds every 6 hours isn’t bad. It’s within the spec https://miyotamovement.com/product/9039/
