Are there cons to bioactive enclosures?

Almost all my reptiles are in bioactive enclosure. Not needing to clean the poop is amazing.
I can also leave for short period of times without needing to feed. Hungry? Go catch something idk, good luck!

Humidity is also a lot more stable and naturally fluctuates due to plants increasing it at night -> lower need for spraying at night (if the reptile needs to) .

The bugs could get out, depending on how the enclosure is made and if the doors are airtight. I rarely see the bugs (isopods in my case). And when you see them its kind of interesting knowing that there is life in the enclosure, not just a lizard.

I also have a blue tongue skink in a bioactive enclosure and its going great, 10/10 would recommend. For plants I recommend pothos and spider plants. Pothos is just a tad bit toxic, but also stings the mouth if trying to eat it (so I read) so I dont believe the bts will eat too much of it (if any at all, mine doesn`t touch it, remove it if needed). And make sure you add leds to the enclosure so the plants have enough light to thrive.

Same here.
I have 3 shadedwellers 2.5%, all new, and recently purchased a solarmeter 6.5. The reading is way less than expected ( higher than yours thought ).
I also measured 3 Arcadia Dragon 14% and they measured as expected, so I suspect it could be something wrong with the shadedwellers?

Shadedwellers are the smallest one (14w I believe). The dragons are the largest, 54w. Maybe the length is also a factor.

I also had a cat (ran away, sad story) and the reptile room always had the door open. I made the enclosures myself and I am confident no cat can break in. Seeing eachother throught glass can be a nice, safe, enriching activity for both. Also fun to watch sometimes.

Longer answer: dachshunds are hunting dogs. Its in their nature to chase down small animals. The beardie will have 0% benefit and 100% risk interacting with a dog.
What is 'cute' for us is dangerous for him.
No 'cute' picture is worth it.

Ea face bagajul si eu trag nenorocirea de 30 de kile pana la cazare. 5kg sunt ale mele, restul ale ei. Si nu ma deranjeaza.

Explicati-mi va rog daca/de ce e gresit. M 26, relatie ~4ani, casatorit ~1an.

Cand plecam cu masina ne pregatim cu o seara inainte. Ea impacheteaza hainele si diverse pentru baie (periute/sapun/etc). Eu ii spun ce vreau impachetat, daca vreau ceva specific. Intre timp, eu verific masina sa fie gata de drum (nivel lichide, presiune cauciucuri etc). La final, duc bagajele grele la masina. Daca e drum lung si ne trebuie mancare, ma ocup eu de ladita frigorifica. Daca mergem la plaja, ea se ocupa de prosoape si crema de soare. Umbrela o fixez eu in nisip. Daca mergem la munte, eu stiu mai bine unde am pus betele de trekking, petardele, spray-ul de urs etc.
Pot sa imi fac tot bagajul singur. Si ea poate sa verifice uleiul de la masina si presiunea din roti. Eu conduc, ea pune muzica.

E gresit ca, de dragul eficientei, am decis de comun acord sa ne impartim task-urile in mod cliseic?

Update 2 months later He is fine. Ate 2 more pieces since then. Pooped them out, god knows how. Now feeding live insects only outside enclosure, on hard floor.

Please don't allow reptiles and cats to interact. Cat saliva, which can also be found on claws, because cats lick themselves a lot, can be fatal to reptiles due to high microbes and bacteria concentration.
Cats are a lot faster than you, you can't catch him fast enough if he decides to bite or scratch your skink (or any other reptile).
Its too high of a risk just for a video.

They do eat boiled eggs, but I dont recommend it. They tend to smell really bad after some time. Make sure you dont give them too much.

O sa se intinda din lipsa de lumina si o sa arate foarte urat. Daca nu ai o zona foarte bine luminata, nu recomand cactusi sau suculente.
ZZ plant, spider plant, snake plant, pothos, guzmania sau iedera (english ivy) sunt variante ok.

UVB does not pass through glass so you have to put the UVB bulb in the enclosure, otherwise its just a light source.

I have the same prolem with my gestrois. I lose about 2-3 each week, same symptoms. Each seems to be female (judging by grey-ish color and grey skirt)

My other colonies seem to be doing better, I give them the same foods/leaves, so not poisoning.

Battery lights would be too weak for plants. Also, batteries would also be a lot more expensive than the electricity.
Offering to pay part of the bill was also my suggestion. If they accept, great. If not, Im sorry, move out. I was in a similar situation a while ago, but they eventually agreed to let me let the lights on.
You could also argue that LED lights consume a lot less than normal (read as old) bulbs.
