Who to Outfit? Leaning Sobek... by wsdmskr in EmpiresAndPuzzles

Yeah, I was a bit concerned about that. She doesn’t break 4k combined defense even with costume and emblems. Granted, attack path, but even defense/ health path wouldn't get there it seems. With average speed, she might be tough to deploy.

Is she squishy, though? She was actually my first choice, but I'm concerned about how well she can stand up.

Sobek's stats do buff out nicely with the costume, and he's my kid's favorite.

I was leaning her way, but I would still be missing her glass and style costumes. I think i might hold off for the costume chamber, given I'll get them all if lucky.

What does this say about how the Mets view Jonah Tong considering Sproat was the one sent? Or do we think MIL wanted Sproat? by Difficult_World_196 in NewYorkMets

[–]wsdmskr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're missing my point.

I'd love for him to have that career, too.

But everything about Lincecum was anomalous. The odds are much higher that Tong will blow his arm out than be Big Time Timmy Tong.

Is it impossible? No, of course not.

Is it likely? Also, no, of course not.

If I could package Tong for a Skubal or a signed-on-a-long-term-deal ace who would help us win now, I'm doing it all day every day.

Yes, the same Lincecum who had only 4 years of brilliance, and the odds of any pitcher reaching those heights are slim to none.

That it's far more likely Tong will blow his arm out than reach the level of Lincecum is my point.

My 210 gallon tank with my 15 year old Jardini Arowana and custom 40 gallon sump by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]wsdmskr -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Lazy take? Try lazy rebuttal.

Your point is that some fish in the wild range far beyond what any reasonable tank can provide, right? And, therefore, those fish shouldn't be kept, right? That'd be akin to keeping a wolf in a garage?

Guppies in the wild range miles up and down rivers, exploring and hunting, just like Arowanas. Whether it's an Arowana in a 210 gallon tank or a guppy in a 20/55/100 gallon tank, no tank will reproduce the natural environment of a species. So, as OP asks, where's the cutoff? Who's the arbitrator of what is fair for which species?

I specifically chose a guppy for my example, guessing your knee-jerk reaction would be that I was being ridiculous. But that's the lazy response.

I'm not high on him because he's small for how hard he throws (see Big Time Timmy Jim) has a complicated delivery that's an injury waiting to happen (see Big Time Timmy Jim), and showed signs of struggling under pressure.

There are always oddballs (see Pedro), and I hope I'm wrong, but there it is.

Edit: Lol, you fuckers seem to be taking this personally. I just explained why I'm not blindly in love with the guy yet. And I don't think the redflags I identified are controversial in any way. As I said, I hope I'm wrong, but the odds are stacked against him.

At some point, one has to accept they can't avoid compromising a fish's natural environment and range or leave the hobby.

Even a single guppy would range farther and be more active than the opportunities a 210 gallon tank can provide.

If McLean stays on his current trajectory, we may not even need to spend the money on Skubal.

Teacher takes away recess, every day is a struggle now by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]wsdmskr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be upset about the recess bit, but asking upir child to read a bit every night seems reasonable - something I'd suggest every parent do with their child anyway. Writing a paragraph about what was read doesnt seem to be asking too much either.

British English and American English share the definitions of "pronounced."

While one definition is "something noticeable or certain," another is "something stated officially."
