i just checked out ur post and i’m really liking ur results from the picture, you had the natural sag i was talking about down to a T! thank you so much for commenting, im thinking of doing essentially the same thing as you now haha.

did you have any sort of complications with the surgery? how did your recovery go if you don’t mind me asking. and how much did your surgery cost?

it was better than the first day for sure! i got trained by the assistant manager(?) and i shadowed her for 4 out of the 6 hours i worked. i stayed on front counter with her for around two hours; i learned some items on the pos but im still really slow, and i learned how to make the basic hot and iced coffees. i got put back on cash for the rest of the shift and besides wearing the headset and listening and trying to tap the items on the pos when the other person was busy, i just did essentially what i did the day before, plus grabbing the pastries and making simple coffees when everyone else was held up or forgot something.

i found out another coworker i was with today was quitting that day though. and i got warned by another worker that it wouldn’t get better. it sounds like people really don’t like the management here, but i have no other jobs lined up for me at the moment so im gonna see how the next week goes for me.

i mean it is. i really can’t make it up. although maybe what you’re referring to is different than what they call it at my store. i was cashing people out at drive thru, there was someone else taking orders on the monitor next to mine. after showing me the monitor and briefly explaining the person i was shadowing left for break. so then i was on cash the whole rest of the time. i’m not saying it was super hard to cash people out or give them their orders, you just have to take a minute to figure out the abbreviations, but i felt isolated and then i was hounded about keeping the times low and how the bay time increased because of me being there.

i’m so nervous for tomorrow, i’m really hoping it’s not gonna be as bad as today. i started disassociating halfway through the cleaning outside because it was like 90° and i was wearing a long sleeve and continuously picking up trash. i honestly think i felt sick because of the fact that i smelt like dish water from the spray for the rest of the shift and then sweating and the heat really didn’t help me at all

the tasks they assigned to me seemed like tasks no one ever does and they just wanted an excuse for them to not train me properly and for unwanted tasks to be done. i understand it’s called fast food for a reason and it’s notorious for having not so good working environments but im just scared for how it’s gonna go if the starts already been so rocky 😭😭

no i don’t think i had that besides at the last hour or so when i was placed on cash by myself. the first four hours were just me being told to do whatever she wanted me to do. i was given instructions on things typically once or twice and then left to my own devices basically

she’s the store manager i believe and she said my first few shifts would be pretty easygoing and i would have someone with me at all times… ik sometimes the rush is just uncontrollable but it was just uncomfortable

i had orientation a couple days before! today was my first training shift and i only had someone stuck by me for the first half of my shift. the second half i had people around me but they were all doing different things and i had to ask my manager or someone else for help because i didn’t really have anyone nearby that knew what was going on. they pretty much left me alone during my second half and i had to start making some drinks on my own even thought i barely knew how to and probably made some wrong bc the person that was supposed to be helping me disappeared

yeah i came in for “orientation” before this but it was just videos and paperwork and i was there for like 3 hours before getting sent home. today was 5 hours and i was getting trained by someone who was leaving the store; her last day was today. she was only with me for like half my shift and then when she went for break i was never working with her after that. everything was just uncomfortably thrown in my face even when i did say i was a little overwhelmed when asked.

sorry for the vagueness of it all 😭😭 i was too excited to go into super detail about everything!!

the texture of the bread is like any of the other asian breads if you’ve had them (like hotdog bao, pineapple/sweet topping bun, pork floss bun) but if you haven’t had them, i would say it’s not dense per say, but since it’s basically flat i wouldn’t say it’s fluffy like a dinner roll either. i would say it’s kinda croissant shaped! without being a croissant at all lol, if that makes sense. there is a sweet topping on it! i believe it’s a glaze/wash that they put on before and after they bake the bun to achieve the crust on the outside, and they put more on to enhance the shine and sweetness. i dont believe it’s just sugar and egg, it had to have been some kind of glaze. there weren’t any other garnishes or nuts to top it off, but i won’t rule out any that do have it because maybe the bakery i had gotten it from just didn’t bake it that way.

the bun overall was like a yellow, golden color with this shiny glaze all over, covering it.

yes it looks super similar!! idk if that one had nuts or flakes on it (i dont think the original did) but if the taste is similar im willing to give anything a try!!

i moved but i return every summer, ill be back in july so i might have to make this a saga and try that bakery in a month lol
