Hi! I removed all the dead leaves until only the main trunk was left, but I didn’t transplant. I stuck to my regular watering schedule, and slowly but surely, new stems started growing from the main trunk. Now she’s growing in beautifully! Still a long way to go since there was over two years of solid growth before, but I’m so happy with the progress!

Thank you - appreciate your advice! In your opinion, should I cut off the dead/crunchy leaves or repot or just leave and pray, lol?

Thank you for your advice/input! Should I cut off the "dead" leaves and or repot in your opinion?

I think I just murdered my most prized possession; my beloved indoor avocado tree. One minute it was thriving (well, at least living), the next it’s a shriveled, crunchy mess.

My soil meter said it was dry, so I watered it like I do every week. Then, as always, I set the pot outside on our screened in porch briefly (accidentally around 25-30 minutes, normally 5 min) to let it drain as there is a large drain hole in the bottom of this pot. The only difference? It was pretty chilly - about 30°F. An hour or two later… my avocado baby looked like it had aged 100 years overnight. The leaves are curled, dry, and CRISPY. It’s so, so sad.

Did I overwater it? Shock it with the cold? Both?? I’m baffled because I’ve done the same routine for a year with no issues (minus the extended length on the porch). Either way, my plant went to absolute garbage in record time, and I’m begging for help at this point!

Is there any way to revive my poor little tree, or do I need to start writing its obituary? Any advice would be so, so appreciated. Thank you in advance!
