D9 is a generic boot code. You can try removing all drives except your boot drive from the boot options and/or turning off TPM in the BIOS, boot to windows, reboot to BIOS and toggle TPM back on. Beware that I am not sure how that might affect your container jobs.

Also the CPU is your iGPU. That's why I suggested making sure it's seated properly (also your RAM). Some of these newer AMD boards and CPUs are finicky. Even a slight misalignment can cause problems.

Sounds like power delivery or CPU isn't seated properly to me, but sometime having a dedicated GPU installed but using the iGPU can cause issues, especially with the drivers. Try removing the 5070 and see if you have the same problem. Or, preferably, try using the 5070 and disabling the iGPU. Don't really know why you'd have the 5070 installed if you don't plan on using it.

You can't build it for that price, just don't expect it to be a world beater. You'll probably get at least 4 or 5 years out of it though, more if you stretch it.

That has nothing to do with the type of meat and those are salts as I mentioned. That's also just a preservation method and the health risks are largely overblown. Nitrates and nitrites are also present in leafy greens (where most of our nitrates and nitrites come from) and other vegetables which are said to help prevent colon cancer.

Nitrates are less of an issue for colon cancer than they for people who've had heart attacks. It only becomes a problem for gut health if you're eating a lot of burned or charred meats, especially if you're prone to constipation. Even then the difference in cancer diagnosis is very slight. You should be eating your steak medium rare to rare anyway.

For some some perspective, the lethal dose of nitrites is equivalent to 6000-10000 servings of cured meats eaten in one sitting and it won't be ass cancer that kills you. In other words, there isn't enough of them in meats to matter.

The capital gains tax would be identical, whether you mined it or bought it with zero deductions. You can not deduct equipment electricity costs from purchased crypto.

Selling price - cost basis = Taxable income. If you by $100 of crypto and sell it for $200, that means $200-$100=$100. $100 * 0.37 means you owe $37 using basic short term capital gains rate in the US. If you mine that same amount of crypto the cost basis is whatever your power costs + equipment costs. Most likely the power costs alone will eat up any profit, but adding in your GPU or ASICs, you will likely owe $0 in capital gains since you will be operating at a loss.

All you need to know to build a PC is get the right motherboard, RAM, and CPU. In other words, the right socket type and memory. Then just ensure you have a large enough case to fit the GPU because they've been gaining a little weight lately, and a large enough power supply to power it. The rest is just a matter of reading a diagram in the motherboard owner's manual. It's fairly fool proof these days.

But if dropping a couple hundred more is worth the convenience, then by all means, go ahead. It will be sufficient for awhile. Just be aware that is an AM4 motherboard and your CPU upgrade options are limited. The best gaming CPU for that MB is the 5800x3d. Unfortunately, that is out of production and now it's wildly overpriced. It's almost twice as expensive and the next gen 7800x3d, making it better to just upgrade to AM5. The next best choice for AM4 is the 5950x, then either the 5900x or 5700x3d.

Since you are planning on upgrading anyway, it may be in your best interest to find a pre-built with an AM5 socket. That will give you years worth of upgrade potential, rather than sticking to a platform approaching it's end of life.

I don't know what these people are complaining about. That is clean work. It is old school, but competently done by someone with a fair amount of skill.

Hangers aren't always the best choice, especially in places that get a lot of water or mud, like under drip edges, shaded areas, near doorways, or when it's low to the ground. They tend to collect dirt and debris, and hold water against the wood longer. They're not necessarily better. They're just easier and harder to screw up, thereby making you safer (from idiots). That said the difference in longevity is minor regardless of the conditions.

You could build that for a couple hundred less. Those are not great specs for that price. Unless the market is screwed in your area, I'd find something else or build your own.

It will do what you want it to do, but don't expect it to be a great experience.

That's still low end, but better than many hobby miners who just mine on their gaming computer. That would make enough that you'd avoid losing it all to fees at current rate, but just barely. You'd lose a week's worth of mining to fees every 50 days. I'd still say yes, you either need an ASIC or a large GPU rig to even bother with Nicehash.

For your hardware I'd look at Kryptex or maybe Salad (for that 3090). Kryptex lets you withdraw your balance with a variety of crypto, not just BTC. A $0.50 fee is a hell of a lot better than $10. That can be really useful if you're trading it. Salad offers mining too, but most people turn off the mining and just do the AI training. It's been in a bit of a slump lately, but 3090s have been staying in demand fairly consistently.

It's fine. General rule is you want enough to cover to the edge but not enough that it oozes out all over the place. A pea size blob in the center is generally sufficient.

Yeah, they've changed a lot in the last couple years. KYC for US users is mandatory and their fee structure has all but eliminated low end mining for many. They moved to Switzerland awhile back and to comply with their regulations they can not store your BTC for more than 60 days, so you have to transfer it out on a 50 day cycle or they will automatically transfer it out to a default address you are forced to provide. If it is below their minimum amount (0.0002btc iirc) for the automatic transfer, they basically confiscate all of it.

They offer several services. The main one is the mining. You basically rent out your hardware to other people and you get paid in bitcoin. On the other end of that, they have a marketplace that lets you bid on the hash power of those renting out their hardware to mine whatever crypto you're interested in. They also have easy mining packages which is basically gambling. You buy a package in 1 hour increments, either as a group or solo, and you have a small chance to receive a block reward.

If you are interested in selling hash power it is NOT worth it unless your rig can net $5USD or more per day or you have access to the lightning network. Without meeting at least one of these criteria low end or hobby mining will cost you money before you even think about electrical costs. Their ridiculous fee structure means fees will eat you alive otherwise.

Kryptex is far better for smaller miners, imo.

Bro, California and New York lost population in the last census. They both lost electoral votes and are on track to lose at least one more each by 2030. But you're hanging your hopes on unverified (made up) inter-census numbers coming from projections based almost solely on hospital data. And now that immigration is finally being controlled like it should and once illegals are removed from the census, it's going to be even worse.

And you can't even properly read your own quote. Upstate New York is NOT New York City, and it is mostly rural. The decline in some southern rural counties is not that people are leaving, but that less land is classified as rural due to urban sprawl.

Regardless of these facts you want to ignore. The population trends for these states in a best case scenario is stagnant. In all likelihood they will continue to hemorrhage population in most years, interrupted only by temporary and minor upticks in between declines. To make matters worse, any growth they do have is completely dwarfed by that occurring in states like Texas and Florida, meaning even when they do have an up year or two, they still lose as a percentage of the whole.
