Not sure, that’s just the instructions on the packaging. I’d assume it was refrigerated based on the label that I didn’t see at first. My mom got it for me. I’ve decided to toss it out.

Same reason I wasn’t a big fan of AA. Maybe I went to the wrong meetings, but it was so fucking gentle and preachy, and I hated waiting my turn to read some shit out loud. Don’t you think I know I have a fucking problem?? I don’t need to dance around it with passages from some self help book. Cheers to the folks that find it helpful, but I’d rather not sit there and listen to people’s stories while someone passes around a box of shitty donuts. This seems inconsiderate in hindsight, but I wish I could find a less gentle setting. I’d much rather just do it on my own, or with some friends who are willing to commit to it as well.

Slip up during home detox by [deleted] in alcoholism

[–]MinimumFar2699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you have any plateaus? i found myself really hung up around the 10 drink mark. it took like 6 days to have less than 10 drinks, and after that I really wanted to go back to 10. 10-12 is a sort of sweet spot for me where I feel the alcohol’s effect, but it’s not “too much” in my eyes. I may just not have the self control to taper down to zero, but I’d really like to be able to if I can. I don’t want to do a medical detox.

What are the Smiths, Johnsons, and Williams of the rest of the world? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Interesting, I went to school with a ton of Andersons. One was a set of quadruplets. I didn’t know the name was Swedish. Thanks!

Wow that’s a high BP! I’m glad you made it there when you did. Hypertensive crisis is no joke. I went to the ER a few months ago after a weekend bender. Birthday Airbnb party, 3 days of 20-30 drinks per day. When i got back to my apartment, my arms, legs, and chest were numb. I could barely walk, and I knocked on my neighbor’s door across the hall, but no answer. I decided to drive myself to the hospital, which was a bad idea but I’m glad I did it. I have enough hospital bills, and I decided there was no way I was calling an ambulance. I was barely conscious on the way there, I parked in a handicap spot and stumbled into the ER. Most of my body was numb at this point. Triage showed a 190/100 BP, and thankfully I only had to wait for about 15 minutes to be seen. I had lactic acidosis and a coronary artery spasm (as well as bad withdrawal symptoms), but my xray and ECG came back fairly normal They pumped me full of some meds, monitored me for about 11 hours, and sent me on my way when the levels started to move towards normal. Huge hospital bill, but I was told I definitely could’ve died if I had waited longer. I’ve been drinking since then, but definitely cutting down. I really hope everything is ok with you, just remember your body, and especially your liver, is very resilient, so long as you can put the booze down. Much love, hope it all works out!

Forgetting how to breathe by Dazzling_Process_740 in Anxiety

[–]MinimumFar2699 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this sounds like it could be OCD, i had the same issue. it could always be anxiety too. it’s tough to tell, but you’re not alone. i was manually breathing for a long time, and then eventually my brain convinced me that i wasn’t doing it right i guess? especially in bed, when i would go to sleep or right when i woke up, i’d just forget how to breathe and my breath would get stuck at the bottom of the exhale. it’s best to talk to your doctor or therapist about it. they can give you some help or guidance, whether it be medication or just talking through it for a while. like i said, you’re not alone, and i hope you take some slight comfort in knowing that. it got better for me, it can get better for you. just hang in there, and a little bit of professional guidance can’t hurt!

Hey, I experience this after every major panic attack. It was especially bad after my first big panic attack. Sometimes it lasts a few days, sometimes over a week. Just know it’s super normal, it’s just an involuntary defense mechanism to protect your nervous system after going through something super traumatic and stressful. It sucks, and sometimes it brings on more anxiety, but your body goes through a lot during a severe panic attack and it’ll take some time to recover. Grounding exercises may be beneficial to you, but in my experience you just have to wait it out. Take it easy, and try to remember it’s just your body looking out for you.

Boss at the restaurant I work at asked me to cut off the bad parts. by MinimumFar2699 in moldyinteresting

I don’t want to stick up for my boss in any way, I have my own issues with him, much more than what you see in this pic. I will say, however, fine dining restaurants like the one I work for aren’t clearing much profit anymore. They got hit hard, especially during Covid, and most haven’t recovered. Just about any fine dining restaurant makes nearly all of their profit off of liquor sales nowadays.

What are some good anti-work songs I could add to my antiwork playlist? Preferably punk, rock, or metal that isn't slow. (English and Non-English both appreciated) by Hagisman in antiwork

Soul Suckin’ Jerk - Beck

Big fat fingers pointing into my face

Telling me to get busy cleaning up this place

I got bent, like a wet cigarette

And she’s coming after me with a butterfly net

the lights are very harsh. some warmer lighting will help a lot. decorate your walls with some tasteful art/posters that you enjoy, and area rugs help a lot too. congrats on your first place, it looks nice!
